The Spyderco UKPK Fat Carbon Dark Matter is exclusive to Heinnie Haynes® and adds a not often seen handle material to the canon of this legendary folder. Carbon fibre offers high tensile strength, low weight, low thermal expansion, and high chemical resistance, perfect for a high-end, quality folder.
The blade uses S30V stainless steel which, again, is a material perfectly suited to the rigors of Every Day Carry. And of course it's UK Friendly Carry (non-locking and under 7.6cm blade length) so take it with you in pocket, pouch or pack.

“Having been one of the contributors to the original design team consultations I have carried one of these for many years. As mentioned before, the scales give this version a classier look than normal though perhaps reducing the grip a little. Nice blade, easy to keep sharp and the original type full length spring at the back gives more longevity than the later shorter versions, 2 of which have snapped in my case leaving the blade swinging about; I wonder if it is possible to get replacements? May be a bit small for large hands but ideal for me and a UK legal carry. The deep pocket clip, blade steel and ergonomics keep me coming back to this as my EDC I have not yet found anything better.”

“I have several UKPKs and this is the first UKPK with dark matter carbon fiber handles - that I know of! It's exciting to see Spyderco go this way with handle textures. This knife looks very smart. The handles are lovely. You think they feel soft but of course they are hard, but it's like they feel warm to the touch but they aren't! You think they'll bend under use but these handles are strong. All that fluff means this knife feels reassuring in the hand and I can't help but hold it with a light touch! I love the way the light bounces off the dark matter carbon too. The blade is a sturdy, hardworking yet easy sharpen CPM S30V. That's around SPY27 Spyderfans! I totally recommend this UKPK. It will do well in your collection!”

“A nice new version of the ever popular UKPK. Gorgeous carbon scales, which aren’t too smooth and have some light texturing for added grip. Nice descent, useable steel, which holds a wicked edge and isn’t hard to sharpen. Although it would have been nice to see a different steel used with these carbon scales- ie Spy27, Magnacut or S110V. A fantastic edition either way!”

“My favourite UK friendly carry buy a very long way. Excellent build quality, super sharp, fidget friendy one handed open & close - rare for slip joints - and the scales, particularly on a sunny day, are visually mesmerising as well as a highly tactile strong, soft, matte feel. Unreservedly recommend. Very fast and efficient processing by HH as always.”

“It’s a beautiful thing! Compared to my Urban Lightweight this special edition feels lighter and so much smoother to operate. It shimmers in the light feels quality and just opens and closes as smooth as butter. Well done HH and as always excellent speedy service. 10/10”

“These carbon scales certainly move it up a notch, they feel so much nicer than the nylon ones. If Spyderco ever decide to produce them for after market I'd be definitely upgrading my UK collection.”

“Very impressed with my first Spyderco. Really please with the Fat Carbon scales, the quality and finish is great. Super sharp out of the box and a joy to open and use. I'll definitely be looking at other Spyderco stuff in the future.”
