Exciting times at Heinnie HQ! There’s a new exclusive Spyderco UK Penknife in town and it’s a bit special!
The Spyderco UKPK Fat Carbon Dark Matter is exclusive to Heinnie Haynes® and adds a not often seen handle material to the canon of this legendary folder. Carbon fibre offers high tensile strength, low weight, low thermal expansion, and high chemical resistance, perfect for a high-end, quality folder.
The blade uses S30V stainless steel which, again, is a material perfectly suited to the rigors of Every Day Carry. And of course it's UK Friendly Carry (non-locking and under 7.6cm blade length) so take it with you in pocket, pouch or pack.

I have a few Spydercos in my knife collection, including the Para 3 and Manix 2 Lightweights, Heinne's UK Pen Knife with the red G10 scales and the Urban UK special version made by Lionsteel. While they are all fantastic, they pale in comparison to this knife. It's the carbon fibre scales that set this knife off. Incredible to look at and to handle, with the usual Spyderco quality. The S30V steel is great for EDC and the size of the knife is perfect, not too big (Manix), and not too small (Urban). Being a UK legal carry is a huge bonus. I can only see one downside to this knife, and that is I bought it for my brother's 60th birthday present, so sadly I can't keep it :( Though I know he will love it. It's so nice, I will just have to buy another one for me.

The SPYDERCO UKPK Fat Carbon Dark Matter Heinnie® Exclusive is a fantastic take on an already iconic UK legal carry knife. What immediately stands out are the Fat Carbon Dark Matter scales, which look absolutely stunning in person and give the knife a much more premium and distinctive feel compared to the standard UKPK models. The scales not only look incredible with their unique patterning and depth, but they also feel great in the hand, adding a more refined and high-end touch to the overall package. The materials and fit and finish are exactly what you would expect from Spyderco, excellent quality throughout with the lightweight practicality and superb ergonomics that make the UKPK so popular. What I really like about this version is that it keeps everything that makes the UKPK such a brilliant everyday UK legal carry knife, while giving it a far more special and individual look. It stands out from the more common “run of the mill” UKPK variants without losing the practicality and simplicity that make the design so usable day to day. Overall, this Heinnie® Exclusive edition feels like a perfect upgrade for anyone who already appreciates the UKPK platform but wants something that feels more unique, premium, and collectible while still remaining an incredibly practical EDC knife.

I love the quality of the materials. Very lightweight, thanks to the carbon fibre and good design. The blade is great for edc UK carry laws. Very happy to recommend.

Superb, but,,,, Just a quick p.s. To my earlier review.... There were a few sharp edges to the carbon fibre scales, but a little work with some fine wet and dry paper, and it's smooth as a baby's bum now,,

It really is quite special for a UKPK... I ordered a couple, just in case it was a 'keeper' and it is. The carbon isn't flashy - it's beautiful... got warmth and a micro texture like velvet - hard to describe - not plasticy. Blade as per normal - perfect. The detents are really sexy... both have a different sound and 'tension' when they are engaged. More tension in the 'open' and less tension in the 'close'... so the 'snick, snick' sound of the bearing detents ramp up as you open and ramp down as you close. Nice. I'd like a locking version of it too.

The Spyderco UKPK with Fat Carbon Dark Matter Heinnie colab is as you would expect, the blade is CPM S30VP steel and the scales are “Fat Carbon Dark Matter. The blades is pretty standard S30 but the scale material has a kind of iridescence to them as you move it around in the light, they kind of twinkle and have a 3D effect depth to them. Ordering this knife was as easy as it has always been but I wish I’d ordered it using DPD courier instead of the default DHL. On the day of expected delivery, Friday 1st May 2026, I received an email telling me that they were sorry to have missed me and that redelivery would be the Tuesday 5th May 2026, after the early May bank holiday. Trying to get hold of DHL is next to impossible so I contacted HH customer service, a second knife was despatched for delivery on Saturday 2nd May via DPD, this knife arrived and the first DHL one was redirected, the moral of this is don’t use the DHL option as they are pants, use the DPD option instead. Heinnie Haynes are second to none for customer service. Oh and the knife is sublime.

Fantastic knife, the forged carbon fibre looks great,, it was a toss up between this one and the Chaparral in maple, I'm so glad I've got this, and saved £100 as well,, Great legal knife which should last my lifetime,, highly recommend this one..

Great product, looks even better in person, the carbon fibre is really nice. To tie in with the usual carbon fibre knives, I would of liked to of seen S90V as the blade steel, but you can't have it all! Great service as usual by heinnie haynes, my favourite by far to purchase from
