Exciting times at Heinnie HQ! There’s a new exclusive Spyderco UK Penknife in town and it’s a bit special!
The Spyderco UKPK Fat Carbon Dark Matter is exclusive to Heinnie Haynes® and adds a not often seen handle material to the canon of this legendary folder. Carbon fibre offers high tensile strength, low weight, low thermal expansion, and high chemical resistance, perfect for a high-end, quality folder.
The blade uses S30V stainless steel which, again, is a material perfectly suited to the rigors of Every Day Carry. And of course it's UK Friendly Carry (non-locking and under 7.6cm blade length) so take it with you in pocket, pouch or pack.

Usual stunningly fast delivery from HH. Thanks. Usual UKPK quality and ergonomics and a change from my HH UKPK that I have had since 2020. Stunning scales - looks like marble, and shimmers and changes texture in the light. Very impressive aesthetically. Very slippery when wet though, and flew out of my whilst drying after rinsing - so be aware. Very pretty thing though, but a gentleman's light use (dry!) folder due to traction issues so if wet or harder use is needed there are much better UKPK choices. Still superb and recommended though and kudos to Spyderco and HH for creating this!

When you put Spyderco and UK friendly in the same sentence, it instantly becomes my new EDC Friend. Ok its no flicker but that said, its made in Colorado, has gorgeous dark carbon scales and feels really good in my pocket officer... Welcome to my dark side.

This is my second UKPK (I also have the Green FRN Salt with LC200N blade). Although probably not as durable, especially in corrosive environments, I find this version more comfortable in the hand; my original UKPK feeling a little too slim. But this version with the fat carbon scales is perfect and on looks alone this has it in spades. And as always you get the HH customer experience which is second to none.

Fantastic knife! Very lightweight, the scales are beautiful. S30V is still a great steel. A wonderful addition to my ever expanding UKPK collection.

Imagine the UKPK but as more of a statement piece than a tool. This is it. If you're looking for the most practical and functional version of the UKPK the G10 scales is better in terms of grip and texture. But in terms of appearance and aesthetics. Wow. Just wow. This is a beauty. It catches the light in wonderful ways no matter where you put it and looks elegant when holding. It's more smooth and less grippy than you might be used to but it works brilliantly with a suit or as a gentleman's pocket knife in a way the G10 just doesn't. It's a really stunning version of the knife and if your collection is missing that knife you can wear for more formal events this could be it. Or if you're like me and just love the UKPK model this is probably also perfect for you. All in all exactly the same as a regular UKPK in terms of functionality, arguably slightly worse than G10. But incredible in looks and really one of a kind in your collection.

The Spyderco UKPK Fat Carbon Dark Matter Heinnie Exclusive, isn’t just a pocket knife; it is a definitive example of how to elevate a utilitarian staple into a functional piece of art. As a UK-friendly, non-locking folder, it manages to balance strict legal compliance with high-end collector appeal. Aesthetics: The "Dark Matter" Factor The star of the show is undoubtedly the Fat Carbon Dark Matter scales. Unlike standard G10 or FRN, this material has a deep, topographical texture that catches the light in a way that feels premium but not flashy. Unique Pattern: No two knives look identical, giving it a semi-custom feel. Ergonomics and Portability The UKPK (UK Penknife) has always been celebrated for its ergonomics, and this version is no different. The Finger Choil: The deep 50/50 choil is a stroke of genius. It provides a massive amount of control for fine tasks and acts as a secondary safety feature; if the blade were to close during use, your index finger prevents it from hitting the edge. Weight: Despite the upgraded materials, it remains incredibly lightweight and disappears in the pocket. The Clip: Spyderco’s wire clip is the gold standard for deep-carry—discreet, sturdy, and won't chew up your trousers. Blade Performance The drop-point blade profile is a workhorse. Full Flat Grind (FFG): This makes the UKPK an absolute slicing machine. Whether you’re opening packages or prepping an apple, the geometry is optimized for effortless cutting using CPM S30v Deployment: The trademark "Spydie Hole" allows for easy one-handed opening (even with gloves), and the detent—the "half-stop" and "full-open" positions—is snappy and reassuringly firm
