“The service, food and crew were all great. Small cabins in hot weather, with sealed porthole, made for poor sleep! The itinerary was ideal, but circumstances beyond crew control caused some changes. eg Worcester cathedral closed due to a wedding, Cheltenham visit made impossible due to boat being trapped between two failed bridges with no mooring available, until a business works wharf consented. The coach trip went instead from there to Painswick Rococco Gardens but there was a road closure and the driver made an unwise shortcut, resulting in visit lasting 1 hour & tea shop closed as we arrived!
Coach returned to departure point to find boat had moved on. Another lot of country lanes to find the boat. Bridge closures meant Saturday evening meal and Sunday departure breakfast were on the boat (probably more comfortable than in the boathouse). All in a weeks holiday! Congratulations to all at English Holiday Cruises.”
“Being rather old, I needed a walker and it was never any trouble for the crew to help me with this.
Being older, I needed a walker and the crew were always happy to help me with this.
Delays caused through no-fault of the company were dealt with very efficiently giving a little extra excitement to the holiday.
You do get what it says on the tin.

“From start to finish the Severn Vale Discovery Cruise was all that it proported to be and more! Good food, good company and excellent, well organised trips. The visit to the Morgan Motor factory was outstanding. The accomodation on board was comfortable and clean. We are both looking forward to taking another cruise with this company in the future.”
“This was a great cruise with a very interesting itinerary, particularly the visit to The Morgan Car Factory. The captain Conrad was very informative throughout the cruise and the crew were very diligent and friendly.
The food was plentiful and delicious but could not manage all of it.
Onboard reception area and roof deck were excellent for socialising and we met lots like minded people.
Unfortunately six of us contracted a bug so lost a couple of days. Think on board hygiene arrangements need to be reviewed.
We would recommend this cruise as a very relaxed way to see the countryside.”
“A lovely relaxing cruise along the River Severn with fantastic views, attentive staff and super-delicious food! All without the hassle of Airport travel which sandwiched our previous cruises on European Rivers. Have recommended to several friends and relatives already.”
“All enjoyable, but we did find the itinerary a bit much for our age group. More flexible meal times would have been appreciated by all. The general quality of the food served was good and well presented. Better ventilation in the cabins should be a priority as we found it quite stuffy. The crew were first rate and very personable.”
“We were looking for a trip to enjoy the beauty of the Severn River and Gloucester area . This trip had been a long time coming and it was worth the wait. The staff of English Holiday Cruises both onboard and off were amazing. The passengers on our trip the first week of July 2024 - were a great bunch. The day tours of Worcester Cathedral, Morgan Factory, Gloucester's Fox Kiln Distillery - with Gin tasting and Slimbridge Wetland Centre were done well. This cruise had a bit of everything, great views, crew, food and company! Highly recommend to locals, Americans and everyone interested in enjoying this magnificent area!”
