“The terminal parking as usual was great.
Unfortunately I de-rated the score due to the airport security staff being terrible and not complying with the Civil Aviation Authority guidelines.
As the first female officer did not know what to do with a passenger wearing an insulin pump and CGM sensor and asked her female supervisor for advice who then told me either to remove the medical devices and go through the scanner or wait for a room to become available for a search.
The CAA guidelines detail that medical devices should not be removed and another search method to be offered.
As I have flown in the last 12 months through Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heathrow, Gatwick, Zurich, Qatar, JFK, Puckett, Innsbruck, & Turin airports which all did not require the medical device’s removal and was offered a hand pat down/ hand held metal detector to be used.
These staff at Edinburgh on the 02/04/2023 seem unaware of the correct procedures for passengers with medical devices.”
“I use Edinburgh terminal parking a lot. Easy to connect with the airport. Car spaces are a bit tight but manageable.
I always have problems with pre-paid tickets for some reason, I always have a bill as my car registration is not recognised and I have to speak with the operator. I have contacted airport parking over the recent 10 years but it still is an issue for me which is aggravating.”
“After initially making a wrong turn and trying to enter the wrong car park we found the correct one and it was so easy! We found a space immediately but I could imagine at busy times it may mean having to look around a bit. An indicator board directing you towards free spaces would be good.”
