“We always park at the airport with a short walk to the terminal. Not always easy to find a space as very popular. The frustrating thing is that our car reg is very seldom recognised, then when we try to leave the machine tells us we owe a fortune but a quick buzz the operator finds our booking and then we are on our way.
Negative on last visit was the cost £170 for 10 days”
“was leaving on the sunday of the royal highland show barriers were not working properly and when i put my ticket in it says that i owed £460 shock horror
small fresh white scuff on my (black) car managed to get it out with the good polish that i have”
“I have tried nearly all of the parking options when travelling (including the unofficial parking and public transport) but come back to the official car parking for security, cost and efficiency. Obviously, the sooner you book your parking the cheaper it is so it is not always the cheapest if you book close to your departure date.
Also, the further away from the Terminal you are, it gets cheaper but even the Long Stay car park is only a 10 minutes walk and the route is well sign posted.
However, it does lose a star because there's only one way in/out and our trip coincided with the Royal Highland Show at Ingliston, next door so it was nose to tail all the way out (when it was moving) and took an absolute age!
All of the other times, it was straight into the car and straight out and if they could get another route so it prevents the bottle neck, I'd happily give it 5 stars or just check and ensure there's nothing going on at Ingliston when you intend to park up or leave!”
“I use the long stay car park regularly as I am a frequent flyer with work - it has always been great except for the last 4 times when I’m exiting, the barrier tries to say I owe money - I have to wait for someone to come on the intercom, give them all my information then to be let through eventually - not the end of the world but irritating after a long trip when you just want to get home - also it’s been every time the last 4 times I have left … hopefully this will be resolved soon”
