I pre-booked 3 days long-stay (mid-stay?) parking at the airport. On arrival at 8am on Tuesday 23rd December I inadvertently entered the short-stay car-park. I noted that I had parked by a post with "A" on it. I only became aware of my error when I returned from Paris at 23.30 on Friday 26th. Having been sure that I had parked in the long-stay park, I walked up and down for almost three hours in the early hours of Saturday 27th trying to find my Tesla (BSK846). During that time I asked several airport workers where I could find the section "A". I also used the intercom on one of the exits but was not advised that section "A" was in the short-stay car-park. Eventually, again using the intercom at the exit, I was told that I should look in the short-stay car-park where, at around 03.00, I found my car. I am 76 years old and my iphone indicated that I had walked just under 10,000 steps between midnight and 03.00. By then my right leg was aching and I could barely walk. My leg is still giving me trouble today, 8th January. If it doesn't settle soon I may have to seek medical advice. The signage at the entry to the car-parks is not clear. Having subsequently looked at the airport maps, including Google Street-view, I now understand my error, however, the signage is not good especially in poor visibility before dawn. With the benefit of hindsight and a map in front of me - on entering the roundabout on Eastfield Road I should have turned right onto Eastfield Avenue to the mid-stay park. I missed any signage for that and continued to the short-stay car-park. I'm sure that I'm not the only infrequent user of the airport to make this mistake in poor visibility.

It was very wet and there were big puddles that weren't draining away from the pedestrian walkways so I got quite wet. Numberplate recognition didn't work and I wasn't told I needed a physical ticket instead upon entry. Otherwise it was fine, for long stay parking it's a convenient walking distance from the terminal

Booking and finding car park is all easy with a short walk to the terminal. Second time however on return and exit it has tried to charge us for the stay even though all was was pre-booked and paid for! All sorted by guy on the gate once reg etc was confirmed as he said the system hadn't registered our details upon entry! Always use this car park or the mid stay and usually have no issues at all.
