“I used this sunscreen when I was on roaccutane and it was perfect but way too heavy for when my skin started to readjust post treatment. I’m now using tret and my skin is drying up again so think I will be reverting to this!”
“Lovely sun cream that doesn’t break me out. I have mild rosacea with dry sensitive checks and an oily T zone and a bit of maskne on chin. Sinks in well after 10-15 minutes (can leave a small amount of white cast if you don’t give it time to sink in) no pilling and makeup goes on well after.”
“I have combination, acne prone skin and I found that this didn’t break me out or clog my pores. I think the ingredients really suit my skin and actually helped keep my skin clear. I am white and found that when first applied, it does leave a slight white cast but it disappears within a few seconds of rubbing in. Not sure how this would be on darker skins.”
“I’ve purchased Dr Sam’s Sunscreen a few times now and I really enjoy it! I never usually bother posting reviews so I didn’t even think about it for a while but since I started following Dr Sam on Insta and noticed Sam actually reads them, I thought I might as well. I have very oily skin with mild acne but typically Sunscreen has always posed a problem for me. I really enjoyed this product, I didn’t react badly at all and I really like the metered dosage system so that I know I’m getting full coverage. I also like the additional actives she added like Niacinamide, which works great for my skin and I appreciate that it gives me a little bit of a glow, since I obviously don’t wear make up, it’s nice as a guy to feel my face is slightly elevated. The only issues I’ve found is that it’s quite small and I go through it fairly quickly - let alone if I was reapplying it which is expensive and also means there’s a lot of plastic waste which I dislike. If Sam released a much larger size (100 or 200ml) or offered some sort system where you could re-use the same packaging that would be amazing!”
“I found it made me look like a ghost - and I'm NW13 in mac foundation...
I found it pilled but maybe I overworked it.
I really appreciated the clear instruction about how much is required, and its a reasonable price for the quantity of non-irritating factor 50, broad-spectrum sun cream. Just not for me.
I'll use it on my chest and arms in the summer.
Only other things is, it would be nice if it had the UVA star system to clarify how much UVA protection it gives.”
“I agree with below comments that the cream leaves a white cast but that doesn’t bother me too much as after about a week of applications my skin got used to it and absorbed it more easily. However I agree that 3 pumps for your face is a lot, it may be the necessary amount for the SPF but it does mean that I went through the bottle within a month and personally cannot afford to spend £29 per month on this (and that was without the recommended 3 pumps for your neck too!). If it was bigger and better value for money then I would probably persevere with the consistency of it but just can’t justify spending so much”
