“I had really high hopes for this Serum. Unfortunately after 6 weeks I have breakouts all over my face and small bumps on my cheeks and chin. I don’t usually break out on my forehead or chin and my skin looks noticeably worse.
It’s possible this is part of the purging phase, but I’m not new to retinol so I’m not sure why this would be occurring. Perhaps it’s a reaction? Or maybe the retinol is not strong enough? I’m not confident in the product, so won’t continue for another 6 week skin cycle in case it continues to get worse rather than better.
It’s probably a good product for some people. It doesn’t appear to have worked for me.
In the case of retinoids it would be really useful if Dr Sam’s team explained the difference between a worsening of the skin due to the start of a new active product versus a worsening of the skin caused by skin irritation. That would make it easier to know whether or not to wait it out or stop using. :)”
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are so sorry that you had this experience. We would recommend introducing the product slowly to your routine, using half a pump a few nights a week, this should help to reduce breakouts.

After using it for more than a year, and since I'm getting older, I would love and need a stronger retinol, so I hope Dr. Sam and team will formulate one asap :-) If you're new to retinol, like I was, do take it easy, because it can be very harsh at first.”
