“We agreed a price for a one off payment for the next 12 months which was administered two weeks before my current insurance expired and I specifically told them not to activate the DD until the aniversary/start date for their cover - and they took it the next day! When I eventually got through to complain about this, what sounded like a 15 year old girl then told me: "it's ok, it won't start until two weeks time". Am I missing something here? I said NOT to activate until the anniversary of the expiry of the previous insurance. It didn't register between her ears that they'd taken my money within 24 hours but wouldn't be on risk for another two weeks. So I complained to their complaints dept. and of course thay upheld their employees decision. Then... they billed me for an additional £80.00 as apparently my 5 years NCB was invalid because two of those years was in a van and not a car. I was going to cancel right then but of course there's a £40.00 cancellation fee which didn't make it economically sensible to do that and then reinsure with More Than who I should have in the first place. I told them you'll only be insuring me for one year and so they will be. I've also cancelled my roadside membership with them after they gave themselves a 14% rise on the annual fee for doing...er nothing! I wouldn't trust this lot to insure my lawnmower with. MRC”
“Terrible company, terrible customer service and after being involved in an accident that wasn't my fault they caused me a great deal of distress and upset with in sensitive letters in the post indicating the accident wa my fault even even though the other driver had fully admitted blame and settlement had been made. I was hit head on by a car travelling the wrong way around a roundabout at 50 miles an hour and as a result RAC refused to transfer my insurance to my new vehicle after the other one was written off or to insure me for 'any' new car. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE, STAY AWAY!!!”
“Told to cancel policy with less than a month to go when buying a new car, and start a new policy and then charged an extra £20 for the privilege of cancellation. Not a happy bunnie, do they want my custom next year?”
