Scratch Shield Bucket Filter (available in Black, Red & Blue)

Scratch Shield is the new car wash bucket grit filter system that helps prevent fine scratches and swirls being created as you wash your car. Its unique patent pending design allows it to fit most styles and sizes of bucket available in the UK.

The ScratchShield sits at the bottom of your bucket, creating a protective barrier between the dirt, grit and debris which settles on the bottom and prevents transfer back onto your wash mitt. The ScratchShield can fit most sizes of buckets due to its unique removable legs which can be adjusted in or out to fit right to the edge of the inside of your bucket.

The Scratch Shield fits a wide variety of buckets as long as the diameter of the bucket is 238mm or more 65mm from the base.

“Good quality and fits a standard wash bucket with no problems. There are some plastic extension slots that can be fitted for different sized buckets but luckily on mine it just sat well at the bottom without needing them.”

“Buy the Meguairs one piece grit guard instead. The separate leg pieces on this guard constantly fall off and it becomes a pain reattaching them. I bought the Meguiars one piece guard with matching 10L buckets and they are much better....they fit perfectly and don't fall apart.”

“If there is one item you MUST have, then make it this. There is no need to spend a fortune on marketed brands as this does exactly what it is supposed to do. The spacer fins are perfect for a range of bucket diameters. I prefer to use taller, narrower buckets to keep the contaminants in the buckets further down from my mitt. I have uploaded two photos showing a before and after using the 2 buckets with this guard (although it is the blue one CYC used to sell) Without this and using one bucket, you WILL get swirl marks, 100%.”

“Unless you enjoy fishing, avoid this one and spend a few quid more on one of the one piece scratch guards available on this site, as you'll be constantly chasing the "spacer fins" around the bucket. Give it 2 stars as for when you have got it the right size and it stays together, it's better than nothing.”

“it didn't fit into my bucket which is a 10ltr bucket so bit disappointed but I will just buy a bigger bucket.”

“It's a bucket filter! Not much to say really, except easy to assemble, fits my bucket without cutting and serves it's purpose. My only criticism is that it may be a bit too deep. Might cut the supports down if it annoys me too much.”
