Vermouth Lacuesta Rojo Reviews

Read Basco Fine Foods Reviews

THE WINERY Martinez Lacuesta produces Vermut Lacuesta using only its own grapes harvested from several of its Rioja vineyards. The botanicals herbs and aromatic plants cold-macerated in white wine are aged in American oak barrels for 3 years before being blended with a white wine base. The vermouth is then aged for another 3 months in French oak. Careful selection of ingredients has earned Vermut Lacuesta a place among the finest aperitifs in Spain since 1937. TASTING NOTES On the nose it is highly aromatic, evoking the macerated herbs used: vanilla, chamomile, gentian and others. In the mouth it is a perfect balance between bitterness, sweetness and acidity with a long finish. FOOD PAIRING Perfect for mixing classic cocktails but also excellent used as the main ingredient within a Marianito cocktail, where 50ml of Lacuesta Vermut Rojo is mixed with a dash of gin, campari and angostura bitters. 14.9% ABV / 750ml / Contains Sulphites

Having tried several different brands, this is my 'go to' vermouth. It is excellent and I would definitely recommend it.

The taste takes me back to Madrid! Large glass, large ice cube, slice of orange and nibbles is how I like it. Excellent. Wish I could get a 5 litre barrel!
