At Basco, we source the finest Galician beef from the Northwest of Spain. Our Galician beef range comes from retired Frisona dairy cows between 6 and 8 years old, allowing for natural grass-fed marbling. These older cows have a higher percentage fat content and more marbling, resulting in a unique and distinct flavor. Each Galician rib steak is dry-aged for a minimum of 35 days. Originating in the Basque Country, Txuleton steaks are large 35oz rib steaks, carefully prepared and cooked to bring out their rich taste. Galician Rib Steak (1kg)

“Exceptional flavour. Easily served three people plus a bone for the dogs. Couldn’t recommend enough. Just a tip if you don’t like raw meat. I cooked mine on a BBQ 10 minutes each side then chucked in the oven for 20 mins. I know this goes against how it should be served but I prefer my meat properly dead”

“What a treat! Unpacking the meat after thawing you could smell the freshness mixed with the natural aged aroma. I seared the meat on both sides before rendering the edge fat before broiling for 3 minutes each side. Simple seasoning of sea salt and milled black pepper. The meat had a richness about it that was complimented by the extraordinary buttery flavour of the fat, soft and yellow and lightly charred for good measure. Truly one of the best steaks I have ever had and very reasonably priced.”

“This beef is incredible - such an amazingly intense mature beefy flavour. My steak was also much more tender than other Galician dairy cow steaks I've had in the past (which is usually the necessary compromise). Definitely recommend.”

“We bought this steak to celebrate our 5 year anniversary in lockdown and I am very happy to say it did not disappoint even slightly. We cooked it exactly as recommended and it was perfect. So tender, no gristle at all. The fat was soft and easy to eat. (And the dog loved the bone when we were finished with the steak).”
