Well, in a nutshell, I'm not satisfied at all and disappointed with this experience. Of course I won't order from here again. After all the great reviews I read before purchasing, I was sure I was dealing with a knowledgeable crew... That said, the fish was received at it's intended location - that's fine. But why was the codfish packed with an ice pack if it's already salted and preserved? It doesn't require an ice pack which, by the way, got the fish wet due to the packing being open and had holes (vent) in it? The ice pack would naturally defrost and leak, right?? At that point, the fish will start to degrade. That said, it could never reach its final destination without going bad and/or having a smell. I have the pics to send once someone responds to this so you can see I'm not making this up. I'm sure you guys do great work with all the reviews I've read, but I guess my order wasn't the lucky one to get through unscathed. That's why I'm always leary of purchasing online due to mishaps such as this...what a waste of time and money. Let's see how you'll handle the customer service portion of this transaction...Thanks

Hi Theodore, your salt cod, whilst a preserved product still needs to be refrigerated, this is standard Health and Safety recommendations. Your delivery date was delayed due to you changing the delivery schedule twice, we do not recommend that delivery schedules are changed for refrigerated products. However, the 'water' that you find in the product is actually the brine created by the salt cod itself. It still continues to abstract moisture from the cod right up until the point where the cod is used. This is a natural feature of salt cod and you will find this within the package. Your ice packs will have defrosted due to you changing the delivery schedule meaning that your cod arrived 3 days later rather than the following day as originally scheduled, however, the ice packs are gel-packs and so do not extrude much in the way of water. The brine you found in the packaging is perfectly natural, the fish isn't degrading. Thank you.
