My set of scales developed a fault. I raised it online and sent the scales back. I had requested to get a new set and I received them promptly. Good service from Bakerybits

This is a chunky set of scales that stand quite high. That means they are bulkier than most other domestic scales but it gives the benefit of a much easier to read the display. Repeatability and speed of weighing is very good. I have bought the mains adapter and look forward to seeing my bill for batteries decrease as our last set of scales was costing about £8pa.. The real irritant to me is the supply of two clear plastic pieces that are supposed to fit over the display and controls - I assume to protect them from flour spillage and the like. They don't fit properly (they are too small) and if they did fit, they would still slip off. To be fair I had seen one reviewer who held theirs on with adhesive tape so was aware of the issues before I bought the scales. I am still left wondering why such a poorly designed or manufactured accessory was was ever included in the box. The covers have now been binned as totally useloess

I have been searching for a long time for a set of kitchen scales that are worth paying the money for. I was wanting some that are not only very accurate but will weigh in excess of the maximum 5kg provided by most others. At 8 kg these are fine but 10 kg would have been even better - however, a minor drawback compared to their other benefits. They have an add and weigh / tare system and seem to be extremely accurate - no wavering between numbers, and readings are consistent. They have a backlight with large numerals so are very easy to read. They have a wipe clean display with easily accessible, easy wipe clean, touch-sensitive buttons that are in turn under a perspex lid. This has to be lifted to press the buttons but can easily be removed if preferred, although I have not yet found any reason for doing so. The scales can be either battery operated or plugged in to the mains for which a mains adaptor has to be purchased separately - however, the benefits of the extra small initial outlay do mean no flat batteries at crucial moments. Best of all though for me are the following two features: 1. The reading is easily visible and not obscured when a large plate or bowl is on the weighing platform and 2. Although the scales seem to have an auto turn off without a memory (and this is a reason I rejected so many other kitchen scales), the auto turn off period can be either extended to 5 minutes, or can be disabled. I'm happy with that! On top of all this, these scales come with a 30 year guarantee. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and can only give them my highest recommendation.
