This was purchased as a birthday present and the recipient was delighted (she wanted a good crust on loaves) but she hasn't had a chance to use it yet! Ask me again in a few weeks!

I followed the directions as supplied and the cloche does produce an evenly baked and coloured loaf with a good rise and good crust. I made the same loaf, at the same time in my steam injected Miele oven and there was no detectable difference between the two loaves. However if it had been my previous Neff oven the cloche would have won hands down!

My sourdough has improved so much using the dome. Would recommend to anyone who bakes bread on a regular basis.

We've only done one loaf, which worked well. The crust was crisp, the loaf had a good flavour, and the crumb was chewy. The dome was easy to clean (slightly less easy to store, inevitably, as it's quite bulky) but we'd like to try putting the dough onto the cold tray as recommended by the manufacturers. (We also bought some fresh yeast, a great bonus since we find it very difficult to buy it fresh.)

Like the base of the cloche but find the cover too difficult to take off, it is too close to the tof the oven.
