“inwas very impressed with the speed of shipping, well packaged, and it got here. So no complaints about the sales process. The peel itself is incredibly ingenious. Definitely read the instructions a couple of times to make sure you understand the clip placement. But once it's assembled it's a dream to use. No more accidental stick when off loading to the oven. A gentle slide back and the dough loads on to the peel, and likewise in reverse, the dough slides on to the stone just as easily. Well worth the extra cost over a cheaper metal or wood peel. A little flour on the cloth and the dough truly peels right off as the conveyor belt of cloth rolls under the peel.”
“I bought this mainly for placing and removing freshly made thin based pizzas onto a very hot baking stone in my oven, as I always found difficult to do so without tipping some of the 'over generous' topping onto the hot stone or worse into the oven itself. The method is simple but very very effective, the cloth belt sliding easily and delivering the whole pizza effortlessly and without any mess.
But it doesn't stop there, as I can also pick up pastry bases of any thickness to put into pie/flan dishes or even pastry tops including lattice work with no holes or breakage.
The peel itself is made of 1/2 inch solid hardwood and can hold up to a 14" pizza. It is very sturdy and the cloth belt is easy to remove for washing if it gets a bit mucky.
Overall I'm very pleased with the Super Peel and would recommend it to anyone who does a lot of baking of pastry or dough type goodies.”
