Superb product, I teach Real Bread making and all my students love to see freshly ground organic flour as part of my courses.

An expat, I greatly enjoy Granary Bread which is a style not available in US stores. We use the malted flakes with Hovis Granary Flour (also sourced from UK) to make our own Granary loaves. This was our first order. Shipment was speedy, packaging was excellent and the product in great condition to make fine bread. Expensive but a real treat. (BTW Adrian I am familiar with Badbury having lived a while in Swindon and was a Friday night regular for darts and Arkell's BBB in the Bakers' Arms, Badbury for several years in the 70's) Thanks

I bought about 40kg of various flours for my event Radical Bakers Gathering. I was particularly interested in the Heritage grain flours by John Letts. We had a drop-in baking sessions for people to experiment with the different grains and with different leavening methods. This culminated in a team Bake-off on the Sunday, the Kids won with their flatbreads, but second was an Einkorn, Kombucha and Date loaf... We found the Lammas Fayre flours to be really tasty and great to bake with. There were a few people with gluten intolerance, and the combination of the sourdough culture with the lower gluten flours worked well for them. The flour was delivered next working day with no problems. The product range was very useful - I also got 25 of the Panebois baskets. They are re-useable a few times. My only criticism was that the website was a bit clunky and didn't work on my phone. Thanks a lot and I will be ordering again next year. :) Blake

I use these both in bread recipes and also as topping. I don't notice great malty flavour, but do enjoy the crunch and their effect on bread quality.

I got Emmanuel Hadjiandreou's How to Make Bread, and an often-cited ingredient was malthouse flour, or a mixture of rye and malted wheat flakes as a substitute. I've only managed to find malted wheat flakes on KAF in the US, and I didn't need a 2 lb bag, so I bought a 500g bag from Bakery Bits. It's added so much flavor to my loaves! If only Bakery Bits had a location in the US so I could save on shipping...
