“I cannot imagine that there is any advantage to buying a similar configuration stand from a bigger name. I filled mine with sand and it is quite inert. I don't imagine getting better performance.”

If you want kinda heavy... fill with kitty litter (new not used)
Take your time to get the stand perfectly level before you make it heavy.
Square posts (4 on each stand) are not perfectly cut so until you have it all screwed together to it looks wonky. Once i's in place and filled it is dead as in thud. No ring at all.”

“I was very impressed with the build quality of these stands. They went together perfectly with very little effort....based on recommendations of some pretty serious audiophiles and custom stand builders at triple the cost, I filled all four columns on each stand with long grain rice...a very simple, inexpensive and clean project. The results are stands that weigh approx 50lbs each that I am happy to say required no "tweaking" as far as leveling is concerned. I just screwed the supplied spikes (cones) into their receptacles until they bottomed out, tightened the supplied lock nut and they sat perfectly level on my stone floor...beautiful. Now I have a rock solid foundation for my bookshelf speakers which helped tighten up all sonic features. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommended.”
“I purchased these a few weeks ago from Audio Advisor as they had the look I wanted and they were metal. They arrived quickly and after a short time assembling I mounted my Klipsch. Everything I had read about these was correct. They are Great stands-very stable and definitely made a noticeable difference in sound.
