“I have always thought of myself as an audiophile on a budget. And I am always pursuing that elusive "perfect sound".
I replaced a Rogue Shpinx v2 integrated amplifier with this Parasound combo. It seems to be very solid with plenty of power to drive any speaker that I have, however, compared to the Rogue, it is noticeably "brighter". Now I know that the Sphinx has a tube in its integrated pre-amp section, but I did not think that it would be that much brighter. I am listening to Klipsch Forte III speakers, which with the Rogue sounded beautiful, now my Forte's sound a little thin and bright. Maybe with more hours on this Parasound, it will "soften" a little.

“They're both great amps, they both drive my Maggie .7s nicely. The 2250 was louder, but the hall seems a little more detailed.I sent the 2250 back because of the left channel problem, and tried out the halo when your 2250s were not yet back in stock. I'm still waiting on a credit confirmation for the returned 2250 and the FedEx charge to send it.The halo required a longer break in, but it was worth the wait! The Maggie's are complemented with the rel you sold me in 2014 with a "bassline blue" substitute from Signal Cable. A sweet setup.DC.”
“Not too long ago I purchased Magnepan 3.7i and needed a lot of power. At first I thought my old Denon 2400 will do the job, but no avail due to OHM load that couldn't handle for the speakers (4 Ohm), and it was very old. So I decided to try the Parasound product and WAHLAH! Fantastic sound with brute force I must say and then some! Again, the Denon amp was the high end product during the 80's era and it lasted for a good while and was originally made in Japan. Parasound on the other hand is made in Singapore and that's the only down side about this amp that I don't like and that's it.”
Thank you for your comments. This amp is actually made in Taiwan in a factory that's almost exclusively dedicated to making Parasound. Parasound's owner, Richard, has a two-decade-long relationship with the owner of this company and they work closely together to insure the quality of each amp they build.
“I have been running my Magneplaners 1.6 for years with a 35wpc tubed amp and very happy with that set up. I recently had to temporally replace the amp with my 10yr old 200wpc transistor receiver . I noticed that the bass was slightly improved -was it because of the power increase or the fact that the Yamaha had heavy feed back damping which modern amps don't or not listed in specs. One review mentioned how the Parasound improved the sound of his "Maggies" so I ordered the 2250. it did indeed improve their sound. Nice bass and clarity of sound. It runs only slightly warm and is dead silent. Highly recommend!”
