“This parasound replaced a 30 year old NAD power amp. The clarity of the parasound is quite an improvement. I have a Emotiva UP1 preamp. ADS 810 speakers(I bought in 79). Schitt DAC, OPO CD player . Use internet streaming and iPhone songs through the DAC. It was well worth the. money in my opinion.”
“I've barely broken this in but I'm very happy with it. It was on sale so I paid less than $900 tax included. It is plenty powerful to drive my Mini Maggie desktop system.
There is a great sound stage, plenty of base and a full midrange. While I currently am driving only one set of speakers I like that I can connect a second set if the need arises. (If my main system McIntosh integrated amp had that feature I wouldn't have needed to buy a second amp!)”
“It's a great amp so far, but only time will tell how durable it is. It is my 3rd amp in less than 10 years. I had a NAD, but it broke down multiple times. I got a Decware tube amp with a lifetime guarantee, but it broke down in 3 years.”
“The 2125v2 has the power needed to drive my KLH model 5 acoustic suspension loudspeakers. The 5's are notoriously power hungry and I've seen no indication that the amp has any trouble driving them to room filling levels with some very demanding source material from some of my Sheffield Labs direct-to-disk vinyl recordings. I've paired it with the Parasound NewClassic 200 Pre Preamp. They work together beautifully whether my source is vinyl, my CD player through the optical input on the preamp, or a WiiM audio streamer through the coax input on the preamp. The amp handles whatever source I have beautifully. Very happy with my purchase!”
“The amp works well. Initially I hated the sound until I turned down the channel gains on the amp (which were maxed out). The sound with them maxed out was very harsh in the high frequency end of the spectrum. They are still a little harsh, but tolerable. I have added a small equalizer into the circuit which tones down the highs a bit. This harshness is evident with multiple preamps and multiple D/A converters playing known superb recordings.”
Thank you for your review. There must be something wrong with the amp you received or with your set up. This amp should never sound ‘harsh.' Our tech department will be in touch to see if we can resolve this problem.
“I had read great reviews about the Halo A23 but, at less than half the price, decided to give the 2125v2 a shot. Couldn't be happier! It provides a great soundstage, tight base, liquid mids and beautiful highs.”
