“Nice little amp! I am using it to power my outdoor speakers for which I was using an Integra receiver that is no longer my primary processor. Even if the receiver was a 9 channel receiver with 150 watt into 2 channel... this amp is far superior in quality of the sound, fullness, and power. I did not compare it to my main home setup with much more advanced components but for what I am using it it I am very happy with it and would recommend it.”
“This is the 4th Parasound amplifier I have purchased (2 of which are from their Halo line). Although not quite broken in yet, this amp delivers the same powerful, tight sound without being too sterile or bright. It is a perfect match for my secondary system, which consists of a McIntosh preamp and vintage Marantz speakers. Recommended.”
“I'm using the Parasound 200 pre preamp with the 2125v2 and it makes an excellent combo. Very transparent with tight bass. I own several very different sounding speakers and the A/B switching option on this amp allows me to switch back and forth between two pairs without rewiring everything. This was a big selling point for me. This amp has very good depth and a well defined soundstage. I found it more than powerful enough for the speakers I'm using it with. Also it seems to run very cool even after long periods of being on.
On the downside, although the auto sensing turn on feature seems to work very well, I wish it had a longer interval before shutting the amp down when it senses no sound. Also you may have to change how long your runs between preamp and amplifier are and how you have everything plugged in to avoid ground loop hum.”
“I'm still in the process of installing new speakers but as far as the new amp vs. my old parasound amp...midranges are ok....highs are not as good as I expected from a better amp....music is just ok...BUT let me get these new speakers installed & aftera break in period & I'm hoping things will change across the board”
“I bought this amp in late June (thanks Brian!) and bought an Emotiva TA-100 integrated amp with pre-outs and received it this Monday, July 13. I've wanted to try both Emotiva and Parasound audio gear for a while now. I'm very happy with both. The Emotiva may end up in my bedroom/office replacing a Yamaha receiver that is starting to get a little tired after 5 years of substantial use. Then I'll need another pre-amp.("The beat goes on"). I like the features on the Parasound amp. I have two sets of speakers hooked up to it right now, and I enjoy changing the sound by switching speakers. I have Polk Audio RTI A5 small towers and Polk Audio LSiM 703 large, 29lb 3 way monitors hooked up. I just tested the 40 hertz high pass filter with the A5s playing Bela Fleck's "Fight of the Cosmic Hippo." That track produces all kinds of lower bass (below 40 hertz) distortion when played with my Yamaha 2 channel stereo receiver (it has no bass management) and ZERO distortion with the Parasound amp with the high pass crossover set at 40 hertz. My small towers should be full range down to 40 hertz. I've had the amp on continuously for the last 3.5 days and have played many genres of music, from classical to jazz, Steven Wilson, and other stuff since the 90s that has hotter bass sections than early pop/rock music. The amp has not, in the least, gotten hot or even warm. Touching the top of the amp it feels nice and cool. The Emotiva/amp combo sound wonderful together. The amp is very smooth, balanced, musical, and with good detail. My speakers needed more power, especially dynamic power. Loggins & Messina "Mother Lode," 38 Special "Strength in Numbers," Beethoven's String Quartets and Piano Sonatas, Haydn's "Horn Signal" symphony, Dave Brubeck, etc all sound wonderful. I'm very pleased! My speakers needed a small block V-8 or a larger 3.8 litre V-6, not the 2,000 cc 4 cylinder 75 watt receiver I was using.”
