“This is a very accurate sounding player. Very simple. The drawer action is a little loud. It plays any CD I put in it. I have an old Oppo BDP-95 that plays some CDs terribly but sound just fine in this. It was my biggest reason for buying it. Red Seal RCA CDs sound fine in the Oppo and sound "warmer" than the NAD. As some have commented, the remote is small and cheap feeling. It performs as intended. I am very happy with my purchase. The simple functionality and accurate sound are just what I was looking for. I have a pair of Kimber cables coming and hope they will open up the sound a bit.

“The NAD C538 cd player is a very fine, accurate, neutral and uncolored cd player. I have played a few discs of albums I know well and hear a modest increase in level of detail including backing vocals, effects, and so forth. So far it has worked well with no glitches. Remote is a tad small.”
