“I was surprised at how much heat a large Class A amplifier generates. When driven hard, heat sink temperatures can soar over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. This fan can easily lower the temperature 10-15 degrees, keeping the temperature under 80 degrees.
The amplifier, which is on an open stand with a top exhaust Aircom fan on top, generally operates at temperature from 76 to 80 degrees, a reasonable temperature which will undoubtedly extend the life of all the electronic components. My Vincent vacuum-tube preamp, located on a set of shelves, has a rear-exhaust Aircom fan on top and I can also easily maintain temperatures under 80 degrees while it is in operation.
As long as the fan is kept within the first two settings the noise level is quite low, substantially below the level of the sound coming from my Magnepan MG 3.7i speakers driven by the 500 Watts per Channel (4 ohms) Parasound A21+ amplifier. I only notice the fans when I am within a few feet of them, and they give me great peace of mind.
These fans work well and are relatively inexpensive. They can be set to step automatically upward through the fan-speed settings as the temperature rises, or to run at a constant speed. They will sound an alarm at a user-selected temperature. The only missing feature I would like to see, is a control to allow the user to calibrate the digital temperature reading which can vary a degree or two from one unit to the other.”

Unit is easy to operate. I set my temp to 90 in 'smart' mode. Keeps my A/V receiver around 85, which is the average temp without the T8. Of course the noise level of fans change the harder your amp works. At low listening levels, fans are off or barely noticeable. At Louder volumes, the fan noise may be noticeable depending on the content played. Hope this helps.”
“I have Cambridge Audio Azur 851* stereo components (integrated amplifier, DAC, and the Network Player). The amplifier, in particular, tends to run quite warm - to the point where it will turn itself off after 6-7 hours of continuous use. I've wanted to purchase some sort of cooling system, even though everything is in an open rack, because of the amplifier getting so warm, but I could never find anything that I thought would work with my setup since I am not particularly mechanical. I happened upon the AC Infinity Aircom Quiet Fan system and knew immediately that this would probably be the best and easiest solution. I ordered the top exhaust unit first since the amplifier was my biggest concern and the venting system on it is across the top. This Aircom unit has completely solved the overheating problem and the amplifier is staying very cool even after 6-7 hours of use. I have the temperature setting at 80 degrees and thus far I've been able to run the fan in “Autoâ€� mode at the lowest speed. I's very quiet and I don't notice when the fan is on even with my recliner only about 5 ft. away from the rack. The amplifier is staying consistently at 80 degrees and the temperature never seems to fluctuate.
I was so impressed with the top exhaust Aircom fan that I then ordered another one for the DAC as well as a rear exhaust Aircom fan for the Network Player. All of them are extremely quiet - I don't notice when more than one fan is going on and/or off. I was concerned that the rear exhaust fan might be a bit noisier, but in my case, i's not. I have all 3 fans running in “Auto� mode with a temperature setting of 80 degrees and all are staying consistently at the temperature I've set. The Interface is very easy to use and easy to see if changes are needed.
My hope is that with the three AC Infinity Aircom cooling fans being used continuously when my system is on, that the components will have a long and “coolâ€� lifespan. An excellent, well-worth-the-money investment in cooling.”
