“Received the unit and hooked it up properly. Instructions say that unit (when you are shutting down the system) should shut off when the temperature of the amp falls 4 degrees below what you set the unit to. In my case, the unit was set to allow the amp to get to 80;degrees and then turn on to cool it. Conversely, when you shut the amp off, the cooling fan should continue to run until the amp gets to 76 degrees. The units fan shut off when the uni's probe measured the amp at 79 degrees. The manufacturer is sending me a new unit. I did Audio Advisor know the situation. We shall see with the 2nd unit. I's a great idea but not a good start.”

“I recently bought a Vincent amplifier and pre-amp. Although I am very happy with how these components' sound, I noticed immediately that they produced considerably more heat than the Yamaha integrated amp I used before. I saw this fan in one of the Audio Advisor catalogs and ordered it. It works very well, is very quiet and has several settings for use. Along with On and Off, there is Auto and Smart. User can set temperature where fan kicks on along with a maximum temperature which triggers an alarm. The "Smart" setting is great. It uses one of the fan settings: 1 - 4 depending on how close the temperature sensor measures the heat coming from the component is the setting for cooling. For example, the Vincent pre-amp likes to run at about 90 degrees fahrentheit. I set the fan for 95 degrees and it kicks on with setting 1 at about 88 to 89 degrees. As the temperature increases, so does the fan setting up to a max of four. At four, the fan can be heard slightly on quiet passages, but it is still not loud. Less than max setting, fan cannot be heard at all. Highly recommended.”
“This is just what I needed for my Krell KSA-250s. These amps run in pure class "A" and they get really warm. I just set up the infinity device tonight and it is amazing and quite simple to set up. If you are running class "A" amps, this piece of equipment is a must!!! I am going to purchase the add on module this week. They work really well at keeping my KSA-250s cool and should add a few more years before I need to send them back to Krell to be rebuilt. Wish I would have known about them earlier.
