“Everything as promised eg from phoning half an hour before and after my flight,my car was picked up and dropped off within 5 minutes of my arrival and everything was explained of paying the £6 to enter and exit the car park.”
“I have used APH Parking for many years and never had a problem. However I left my car at East Midlands Airport meet and greet car park on the 18th of February and flew off to Tenerife for a week. We returned on the 25th of February and went to collect my car that evening but the driver who brought it to me admitted that he had broken the ignition/steering lock by breaking the key off inside it, while he tried to remove it. The broken part was stuck in the slot which also meant we were unable to turn the engine off.
We drove home to Doncaster without stopping and once in my garage I was just able to extract the broken piece of key using long nosed pliers.
At least that made it possible to turn off the engine
The next morning I contacted the Volkswagen main dealer from whom I had bought the car new and they told me that to replace the key would cost £348.
Since then I have contacted the parking company both by telephone and email to try and claim from their insurance. They have not responded.
I am now considering taking legal action.”
“Bit of confusion on arrival. Although the phone call before arriving was pretty clear, the car park attendants on the entrance point directed us to the original entrance and not short stay one.
Appreciated help on return to start our car.”
