Booking, price and geography of this car park were great. Liked that you keep your own keys, it is ON airport site and no-one moves your car. Courtesy shuttle easy & frequent. Because Car Park 5 is manned by NCP, this is where it changes - we had no idea we could arrive up to 3 hours before our booked time. Nowhere in booking info does it help by saying that Bham airport has an on-site NCP office or 24/7 call centre answering. So ANPR did not recognise our booking when we arrived 10 minutes early and no-one answered the help button, so we were forced to take a ticket. Then worried all holiday that we'd have an astronomic bill on our return. Spotted a sign for NCP office on return and all was well, so long as we didn't put that ticket through the machine!! Had we known some of this in advance, it would have been more reassuring. SO difficult to get to speak to anyone, however I did receive good chatbot response and reassurance from both APH & NCP as to what to do on return.

Parking was very easy, but going in and coming out the car registration recognition never worked, so it was necessary to phone them, slight panic as we had always used APH Gatwick.

All went well with the booking payment and picking up the ticket from the barrier for entry. On return 2 weeks later the ticket was put in for exit and came up as not valid and could we pay £230. On the ticket we read that it wasn't valid for exit. Other people were having the same problem and having to turn back from the barriers to seek help. We spoke to someone having the same problem and worked out there's a small button by the barrier with a telephone symbol on that you could press to to speak to someone. They did not explain anything when we said we'd prepaid and could not get out using the dispensed ticket. The barrier was raised for us but the whole episode was very unsettling. How are people supposed to get out when the dispensed ticket toeavebthe car park isn't valid. We were away from 29th September to 13th October if you need to check dates for problems.
