“Very easy to find and convenient shuttle to the door. Slight inconvenience when leaving the car park the display said we owed £187. Luckily the people on the other end of the help button found our booking and let us out.”
“Convenient and easy entry. Lots of well lit parking. Only 10 minutes walk to the terminal. On exit had to use the call button as when my ticket was inserted a charge of more than £200 was displayed despite pre payment. When I explained they promptly allowed me to exit though so was OK.”

“I have used this car park many times, always pre-booked. Having pre-booked we are told that number plate recognition is used and that all you have to do on arrival is take your ticket from the machine. In theory that means on departure when inserting the ticket in the machine the barrier will lift automatically and away you go. However, in my experience, that does not always happen, and it did not on this last occasion. There was no indication that my car registration number had been recognised and I had to press the button to obtain the ticket and enter the car park. I suspected therefore that I was going to have problems on my return when I tried to leave the car park one week later. My suspicions were correct. There was a long queue of cars at both barriers and it was quite obvious that many drivers were having problems in trying to leave the car park. Some were able to do so very quickly but many others were having to call for assistance. They were not alone. After entering my ticket I was told that I had to pay around £180. Having managed to locate the call button on the machine, which was not immediately obvious and was not illuminated, I was able to speak to someone , after giving the necessary information, the barrier lifted and I was able to get on my way. It is most unfortunate that, for whatever reason, the technology was not working as it should. It just adds to the delays and frustration involved in travelling by air. I like Car park 5 because it is reasonably priced and you can walk to and from the terminal. If it wasn't for these technical hitches I would gladly give a higher rating and recommend its use but these problems need to be sorted out first.”
“the numberplate recognition system failed so had to make contact at the barrier which meant holding up other cars that were arriving. Found it difficult to use the communication button to get through to the office but once contact was made the barrier was raised.”
“Every aspect of this car park was a positive experience with the exception of the automatic number plate recognition system. Despite cleaning the front number plate shortly before entry, the system failed to recognise our car. This happens nearly every time I use the car park.”
“The car park itself is fine. However we pre booked and paid and yet the machine on exit tried to charge me £172 when exiting. I eventually got someone on the intercom and he let us out. Although by this time there were other vehicles waiting to get out. Embarrassing.”
“When we came back from our holiday we put the card in the machine and it said we had to pay 242 pounds. We precooked a ticket. It took a while before we got in touch with somebody. The person said we had to go to the barrier again. In the meantime there was a queue behand us. Luckily a person next to us had the same problem and he told us where to press a button to get in touch with somebody. He also mentioned it happens a lot. After a nice holiday you want to go home and not being in the cold to sort out the barrier to open.”
