“First time used this car park as have previously used the former APH facility which appears to have now been relocated. Check in was straightforward and directed to park in area F. There were not many spaces available and the ones available were very tight. I could not drive straight into a space and had to manoeuvre in which was attempted several times before success. It had been raining and the surface of the car park was poor resulting in having to walk to the bus stop through muddy puddles. Not ideal when you are travelling in white shoes pulling heavy suitcases. The transfer to the airport was average though there was an unusual fuel like stench on the bus which was not comfortable. Upon return there was a bus already waiting which was good though we did have to wait some time to set off. The car park had dried up a little by the time we reached our car so not as bad. Only problem was that someone had parked their car close to ours limiting manoeuvrability. The only option after several attempts to get out of the space was to reverse all the way back to the main road which was further hampered by different length vehicles overhanging spaces and having to navigate past these. Not an ideal situation at 11.00pm in the evening after a 6 hour flight! Overall I was not impressed with this car park and would not use again unless the surface is improved and more space to park and manoeuvre. The only positives are that it was not far from the airport and relatively cheap compared to other car parks though I now understand why.”
“i like Aph and have been using the firm for at least 10 years. I loved the site at Marston Green but after covid they joined forces with Airparks and took over the Mackerdown lane Site. I was ok with this site but it was difficult for us to get to so we opted for the short run.
First I called because I have some walking difficulties 24 hours before as the booking says. I was told just tell the guy when you turn up and oh yeh this is airparks APH ARE JUST THE BOOKING AGENT. so we arrived at 2.45am and the first person checking in was pleasant but again said were NOT APH. We were told to go to the bottom and the person down there would direct us. He had to be the worst person ever, he barked orders at us, saying park between two cars which one was not even there waving in a random direction. As we tried to get his attention again he walked off as his instructions did not make sense at all. We then got into the bus after parking where we thought he said. the 10 min bus we then sat on for 30 mins. No assistance with any of the passengers and then drove taking corners hard so evertying and everyone was swaying all over the place. It was not a good experience. (my reasons for not using airparks)
On our return there was the chaos as all three busses for 3 min, 10 min and mackerdown were there. as a swarm of us came out the short stay bus took off and went.
We finally got our bus after passengers were going all over the place trying to work out which bus. We got back to site, car was fine, dusty but ok. I was very suprised leaving site without having to put a pin in to open a gate. We just drove straight out with no one checking or stopping us. That was a concern. I know you dont want to be held up any longer but I didnt like the idea that we could be anyone driving off from what is suposed to be a secure car park? Aph I rate, this site run clearly by Airparks who kept telling us this, is not a place I would park again.”
