“I am sorry for only 3 stars - but this is due to 2 things - firstly the price has hiked by over £20 from March this year and as the price of fuel has gone down this is not a fair reflection - secondly - the driver on the pick up route seemed very new and was not at all confident and we did not feel very safe at times - he seemed to take corners very sharply and braked heavily”
“Arrival early morning, met with a long queue of cars waiting to check in. Appeared to be confusion between members of staff doing the check in of what they should be doing. Check in was a very slow process, and when we eventually got checked in, given a small slip of paper and told to drive over towards car park and find a space. Empty car parking spaces were few and far between. We were fortunate to find one on the end of a row, but saw a lot of people driving around in circles in their attempt to park their cars. We went into reception, but were told we didn't need to do that as they no longer keep keys on site. We then had a long wait for a bus to arrive to take us to the airport, which resulted in a very long queue of people waiting to get on, and lots of people then had to stand on the bus on the journey to the airport.
On our return the bus driver asked us to produce our ticket (the very small slip of paper we had been given when we checked in). He said it had a colour written on it which we would need to find our car. Again there was confusion as the bus driver told us we had to show this piece of paper to reception so that they could tell us where to find our car. We explained that we had parked our own car, as instructed to do so, and hadn't been able to leave our key, so why would we need to go into reception? The bus driver seemed to be unclear of what the current parking procedure was, he was trying to be helpful, but just caused more confusion.
We got to the exit barrier, and the ticket didn't work to open it, despite several attempts, and the intercom to request assistance was labelled as being 'out of order'. We ended up with a queue of cars behind us waiting to exit. I had to get out of the car, in the pouring rain, to ask these cars to move back to allow us to move out of their way, and started to walk back to reception. Miraculously, the barrier then decided to open without seeing a ticket again.
We have used Airparks several times in the past, and never had any problem, but our experience this time was extremely poor from start to finish. I doubt if we will be using this facility again”
“Arrived in the early hours of departure day & unfortunately missed the bus that we there so quite a long wait for next one. Staff on duty not particularly engaging but efficient. Bus driver on return was extremely helpful & friendly & I wish I had got his details so I could have sent a personal review.”
“The parking row in which we were told to park hadn't any spaces but the member of staff was really helpful, polite and friendly in finding us another spot in a different row. We always use APH at Birmingham and Manchester and find the APH service great as it is in a good location for us to access, feels well run, is competitively priced and is only a short trip to the airport terminal. As I'm rather precious about my car I also feel confident that it is in safe hands while we are away. We will be visiting again next month !”
