“Sorry for the poor rating, I have been unable to use your product. I was unaware from your website that I would need a TV remote control in order to set up the new remote from your company. Dad threw his away when he got a SkyQ remote (to avoid the confusion of managing 2 remotes).”

We're sorry to hear our customer had some issues programming the Flipper with their Sky box. We've contacted our customer and they now have the Flipper working with their set-up. We want to reassure customers that you do not need an existing TV remote control to set up the Flipper. There is an option to program the Flipper using an existing remote control, however, this is the last resort and is very rarely needed. We're happy to provide technical support to any customers who have any issues programming their Flipper.

“Remote was easy to set up, works great for my 99year old Grandmother on her tv and sky+HD. She now doesn't get confused with all the sky buttons as she has less to look at! Seriously thinking of getting a couple more for other relatives with early dementia. Only main issue is that they don't get the programme planner, but who needs that confusion? If you want to just run up and down the channels it's perfect. The sky remote still works for more able people in the household to use when loved one not using the flipper.”

“I really wanted this to work as Dad has such problems with the new Sky Q remote but unfortunatly this does not work well with the Sky Q set up. Firstly you will need to ask Sky to send you an IR remote in order to try to program the Flipper (as the standard sky remote is bluetooth)but this is still unsatisfactory. The big problem is the fact that you need to exit out of the Sky menu to scroll channels and the Flipper doesn't allow for this. Tried programming the mute button as the 'exit' button as suggested but after 45minutes of frustration I gave up. In principle a great idea but it's not for Sky Q users.”

We are in correspondence with our customer to get this working for them as we do have customers who use the Flipper with their Sky Q box. We want to reassure customers that you do not need an existing TV remote control to set up the Flipper. There is an option to program the Flipper using an existing remote control, however, this is the last resort and is very rarely needed. With regards to exiting out of the Sky menu, there are a couple of ways the Flipper can work alongside this and we can provide instructions on request (these are also available online) - We're also happy to provide technical support to any customers who have any issues programming their Flipper.

“I ordered this for my Aunt as she was struggling to use the existing controls to switch on the TV and the sky box. It was fairly easy to set up. The large coloured buttons are very clear. She still has issues occasionally but it has made it much easier for her most of the time.”
