“Good remote for my mum with dementia very simple with very few buttons unlike most remotes these days with buttons upon buttons, the only gripe is this, and it's not the remote problem which I will give 5 stars for, but gave it 3 because of this issue I have, it's the tv and virgin tv box problem that my mum has because where she lives the normal air to air digital tv is hard to receive, hence the virgin tv box. If you press the green off button by mistake, and bare in mind this is being used by a person with dementia, the tv goes off straight away but the virgin box takes a lot longer to turn off. If you press the green on button again before the virgin box has turned off, the two (tv and virgin box) go out of sync. ie, tv on, virgin box off, tv off, virgin box on, that sort of thing. That then becomes a bigger problem with the person with dementia. I have set this remote up to operate the Virgin box and tv otherwise I would need two remotes which becomes more of a confused dementia problem. Not sure how I solve this issue.? Maybe it's me not programming the remote properly!! Any thoughts please.”

We're sorry to hear our customer is having problems with their Flipper remote control and their Virgin TV box. This is a known issue but has multiple solutions. The recommended solution is to disable eco-savings on the Set-Top Box and also change the Flipper to only turn the TV on/off. This means that the Set-Top Box will always be on, and when the TV turns on the channel will load quickly. “Great TV remote control , with only 4 buttons to control TV and Freesat box make's it a whole lot easier to turn the TV and box on and off with 1 button , with the 2 double buttons for volume and channels with just 1 more for to mute sound . Brilliant bit of kit, looks great in white with the buttons in bright colours . Highly recommend”

“Synching the Flipper to the TV was quick, synching to the STB less so. Not finished setting it up yet, but will complete over the next few days. First impressions are that this is probably a decent bit of kit”

“Unfortunately having to return. Tried several times connect Sky Q box with no success. Also googled alternative instructions but that didn't work either. Have to give 1 star because it doesn't work for me but may be for others trying to connect a different set top box. Did find out that some makes of Sky Q don't work with the Flipper product, but not able to determine which make I have.”

We reached out to this customer to offer support and sent troubleshooting information by email and have also given them advice over the phone.
