“We received the clock the next day and it was exactly as described. We lost the old clock with dates etc during a move from the old house. The new one is an improvement as it automatically sets the time and date! Neither my wife or I have dementia but as we are retired one day runs into another and this clock keeps spot on what day it is. Even banks have clocks like this. Great piece of kit. :-)”

“Clock and display is acceptable. Once I set everything, I was unable to switch the radio control on. Also the recipient of the clock required to see the time in the dark, but the clock did NOT have a light.”

We're sorry to hear that David isn't happy with his Geemarc Viso 10 clock. The radio controlled feature is an automatic feature, which can take a few minutes to set the time on the first occasion. The time can also be set manually. We shall be contacting David to explain these points and also to offer a free exchange for a clock that does have a backlit display. Even though we have always stated that this clock does not have a backlit display, we've made this more prominent on the product page in response to David's feedback. “The clock is a good size and thickness, and has a clear display of time and date. It only needs two AA batteries, which should last a good few months. Setting the time was straightforward, and the radio control should keep it very accurate. The display is a good size. I use it by the bed, and find it is not so easy to read in dim light.. The digits are black - and - white liquid-crystal, rather than glow-in-the dark LED, so it requires room light to view it. Because of reflections from other lights, it has so to be be viewed from the right angle.”

Hello Richard, The Viso10 doesn't have a backlit screen, as you have already mentioned in your review, for this reason it isn't the best option for night-time viewing. However, a number of the key features of this clock aren't available on clocks that have a backlit display, such as the radio controlled time, battery power instead of mains, along with the low price. If night-time visibility is important then we would recommend the DayClox digital calendar clock.
