“Having included an aeotec bell in my order during a special promotion, but not researched all alternatives and possible problems with the link to my Homey hub, I wanted to return it for credit and come back to the issue later. Vesternet's response was fast and fully accommodating. In the end I decided to keep the item as I can use it for other purposes even if there are problems integrating in my system (which there probably won't be, I now think)”

“This is a great specialist retailer for smart home builds. They may not always be the cheapest... Though they regularly are. But indisputably, they are always the go to expert in the field of smart home products, and the value they add in helping customers navigate the tricky challenge of compatibility between hubs and products, especially Zigbee and ZWave, helps compensate for occasions that they’re not the cheapest. Vesternet, uses a discount method based on multiples of 5x or 10x of the same class of smart home product within either zwave or zigbee. This is a good deal perhaps if you’re starting out on building a smart home but From my perspective, as a pretty seasoned smart home veteran …replacing this with a loyalty scheme or discount that takes Account of the reality that I no longer need to Buy multiples of the same kind of product type and instead rewards loyalty for simply spending more of my ‘share of smart home wallet’ with vesternet vs their competitors. In this way I wouldn’t feel short changed in any way, or that my purchases are helping compensate those setting up for the first time and able to buy multiples and use the existing discount deal because, whether starting out or refining an existing set up … we’d all be working to the same discount / loyalty methodology :)”

“Update 4th October Since my orginal review (below for context) I have been been impressed by Vesternet's refreshing and quick response to my challenges to them about my order which was not for a trivial amount. Honesty and admission of an error, but more importantly a willingness to pitch in, own the issue, work out what had gone wrong and resolve it to both our satisfaction. Note - I provided an honest review and didn't just chuck it in to get a reaction, I was already in contact with them. I now have resolution and I am very happy to recommend them for their products and solutions in the knowledge that if there is a difficulty it will be fixed promptly as soon as they become aware - about 48hrs since me raising the issue with them. So, I'm pleased to change my rating and happy to say I will stick with Vesternet. Once I work how to use the 'Smarty Points' I'm sure I'll be even happier. Thanks David Bell -------------------------------- Great prices and lots of information. But; 1 - website is shocking to use (across all three main browsers) on a fully up to date iMac - I'm pretty tech savvy - stuck in an endless loop of putting in account details - the only way to open my account is to right click the account tab to open in a new window and cannot see the 'smarty points' anywhere other than getting an email to tell me i have some. 2 - order fulfilment and information flow is poor - 'to follow' on the despatch note is all I have with zero information on the actual order in my account. apparently some stuff is out of stock (which is fine if my expectations were managed but they aren't) - so my value 'starter pack' is pretty useless at the moment. eg a water dock without the actual sensor - smoke sensor without the co2 sensor. Want to stick with it - but guys, you need to up the game. You did ask!”
