About Jericho Coffee Traders:

Kiwi James and his wife Lizzie had always been in love with the idea of having their own coffee business, often scheming about how they would go about starting it up.

The opportunity came in 2009 when they found a beautiful Vespa trike for sale on the side of the road, and both thought: “that needs a coffee machine on the back of it”! And so, Jericho Coffee Traders was born!

Now we have a thriving online business and three locations in Oxford, UK - our Espresso bar on the High Street, our Cafe at the Oxford Castle, and our Cafe & Roastery on Osney Mead - all serving delicious espresso and filter coffees accompanied by locally made pastries and cakes.

I believe i received the incorrect grind for a Moka pot, however Lizzie did offer me a refund. I didn't accept it, as I could use the coffee in my espresso machine. The coffee itself is very good freshly roasted & ground, with each pouch dated. I'm on the second pouch from my order and the only problem I've found is the pouches are almost impossible to reseal, after opening, as the plastic zipper, does not seem to work very well. A problem with the pouches not the coffee itself.

I bought these 3 coffees as a gift for someone after trying it at Bicester. The coffee there was nice but a little cold. I know you shouldn't boil coffee but this was barely warm which to be fair spoilt it for me. The young lad there recommended the Saviour coffee. If he enjoys them li he will buy them all to try. Supporting local business is important and the price is reasonable too. Shame they didn't have a supply that we could buy to try at the stall in Bicester I had to order online.

This coffee is great, full flavoured and robust. The people who sell it are lovely. The only improvement necessary to get five stars would be for subscriptions to be offered on day intervals, rather than the week.

The coffee is superb and worth every penny. But, too many emails with each delivery. Just let me know it's on the way with one email

Good coffee, although it can be frustrating when a blend I've particularly enjoyed is suddenly no longer available (but that's probably the way of things when working with small growers). Delivery by Royal Mail is generally prompt. However, I have a problem with the plastic packaging. Although the bags claim to be recyclable, it does not seem possible to recycle them locally. Fortunately, they are useful as freezer bags(!), but there's a limit to how many one needs! A step forward would be the possibility, where one is collecting the beans in person, to bring bags back for refilling and/or to have a bring-your-own container scheme.

Hi Liz Thank you so much for your constructive feedback! We are happy to refill any container brought into our Roastery, including our bags. Thank you for raising this point; we need to do better at letting our customers know this is an option we provide! Next time you pop into the Roastery for your coffee collection, it would be great to chat with you to discuss our current coffees, including which are 'short runs', and what exciting coffees we have coming soon! Best wishes Richard
