The arms of the otherwise lovely sweater are too short for my husband. Sending back would cost 25 pounds and is complicated by the fact that the sweater cost more than the 75 pounds within custom regulation. Plus printing out documents and what if I did something wrong? It was too much hassle and so I kept the sweater and am thinking of what nice man I can give it to. Because it is lovely. But I won’t risk ordering from abroad anymore, as much as I like your products.”

“My shopping experience was good, easy website and checkout. The shipping was prompt and the tracking was very thorough.
The knitting on my wrap is beautiful and it seems really well made. The only problem is it is much too large for me! I usually wear between a Small and Medium depending on the style, and the wrap looked so fitted on the models that I chose a Medium. It is not fitted to my body at all and hangs awkwardly, falling off the shoulders. Unfortuately I can't really pay international shipping twice more for an exchange so I guess I'll keep it and perhaps try to alter it- move the buttons or something? Such a disappointment because I was looking forward to being wrapped up in this gorgeous wool!
I may shop Aran Mills again but probably for a blanket or something that doesn't depend upon size.”
“Love your products but … every time I order from you, I end up paying big customs fees. Yet, other retailers in Ireland and Scotland that I order from, there are no fees. Shame really as your sweaters are lovely.”

We are sorry for the delay in responding but expecially sorry that you experienced getting billed additional customs fees - all of our customer shipments should be delivery duties paid so if you have been assessed duties, that may be a mistake with the courier. “Love my jumper and delivery was prompt. No plastic packaging. Impressed! Just one thing - do you think you could design a longer length jumper, thigh length. That would be perfect!”
“Delivery was quick and the jumper was well packaged. The size was a little small, so I had to return it. I feel that £25 is high for returns, so I did it via Royal Mail. So far I've had no refund, but I imagine it will take time. I wouldn't use Aran Woollen Mills again because of the returns expense, but I live in England so I guess that's life.”
“I bought the men’s rolled neck fisherman’s jumper in size medium and although it was a gorgeous well made jumper, it was way too big to be considered a medium. Most jumpers I have ever bought in size medium have fitted me and I’m a slim 6ft 1. I ended up buying a rolled neck jumper from Blarney Woollen Mills in the end who do the same jumper but in a modern conventional size medium.”
“I love the cardigan I bought. I just haven’t worn it yet, because of the sheep smell in the cardigan. I love this kind of smell😇, but according to my husband it was a bit to much.. so I washed it twice, aired it twice, and now I have put it in a bag with a scented soap especially made for woollen items. Hopefully this will do the trick, if not so, it is what it is (the smell is already a lot less then it was). But it is okay, I only wear woollen and linnen clothes, and with wool you know because of the natural water resistance of the wool it also can and will smell like a sheep haha! But then again, I will come back to the store for another purchase. @Aran woollen mills: If you need someone who can review your clothes, I am available. Love it!”

Our sweaters are made of natural wool fibres, which do as you noted, contain lanolin (which is the natural waterproofing that sheep produce - we love the smell too!). While we do our best to carefully wash the wool, if your sweater is smelling a bit more ‘sheep-y’ than 'ewe’d like, we recommend washing and drying flat outdoors on a sunny day, and also using a cedarwood spray, which is both great for reducing the smell, but also acts as a natural moth-repellent to prolong the life of your sweater. “The ordering and payment were easy. Dispatch was fairly quick but delivery wasn't great. The courier sent a ridiculous amount of updates and kept changing the delivery date, moving it backwards and forwards several times. In the end I didn't know when it would arrive and spent 3 days stopping at home, "just in case".”

“I thoroughly love the Aran sweater I bought and adored the careful and gorgeous wrapping of the package, many thanks.
Unfortunately the online contact form wasn't operational to assist with my query re. sizing, so I needed to order two sizes as I couldn't be sure which one would fit.
This meant I had to return one of them and yes, the international return procedure is indeed arduous and could be avoided if the size guide was clearer and online support re sizing readily available.
The sizes do seem unusually large...... but the smaller jersey is gorgeous and overall I am delighted.”
