Just returned from our Greek Isles cruise aboard the Panorama. What a fabulous experience! From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by our amazing cruise director Ully and Captain Andreas we could tell this trip was going to be special. Socializing and enjoying this adventure with a wonderful mix of fellow passengers added to an unforgettable vacation. The entire crew were friendly and attentive and we couldn't ask for anything more. Swimming at private beaches or off the ship was a real treat. All the ports beautiful and with Ully in charge we could relax and enjoy all the sights and local history. We can't wait to sail again on a Variety cruise!!

Greek islands - great. On this boat, at $1,000 per day, each, so $2,000 a day not including drinks or wifi, one expects things to be clean, in working order, all staff to be friendly, especially on aboat that only takes 40 guests. I would give THIS Galileo experience by Variety Cruises, a 6.7 out of 10. It wasn't terrible but i would never recommend it - there are other cruise boats to choose from. The guest consensus concluded the staff (not the lovely room cleaners or the lovely tour guide) have been doing this too long, are complacent, bored, are just doing what they have to do - not rude, just absent and disconnected which is hard to miss on a small boat. Every Guest mentioned a problem with their rooms. We had no hot water in the shower for the first 3 days, our friends toilet wouldn't flush properly, another's toilet leaked, our friend's room behind the captain's stunk of cigarette smoke (from his quarters) for the whole trip, all the shower curtains were dirty and need replacing, a light hanging out of our ceiling, the lounge covers on the day beds everone commented on (stained, mouldy). All of these things are easy and cheap to fix. It was advertised as a sail boat, but they couldn't be bothered putting up the sails; that you could swim off the boat, but they won't let you. Remember $2,000 a day, so very 5 star pricing for a 3 star gig. On the last night they turned everyone's air con off, making the small rooms sweat boxes. The cruise manager got complaints from everyone and just shrugged his shoulders - last night, he didn't care less, NEXT. We doubt complaints that they shrug their sholders to ever get back to senior management. And they hit you up for a massive tip at the end. No. Here's a tip: turn over some of the crew (unfriendly Captain first, Guest manager second), fix up the boat, get the owner to put $$ back in instead of just taking $$ out (like the Grandfather who started this company did). The Gk islands were great, the itinerary was good, lovely other guests we hung out with. We enjoyed ourselves a lot.

Dear Mr Mahony, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience aboard the Galileo did not meet your expectations and are sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with the cabins. Please note that, to date, we have not received any reports of cabin-related issues through our online channels or customer satisfaction surveys. Please be assured that we have addressed the concerns you raised with the relevant departments. We are surprised by your comments about the crew, as we receive positive feedback about their service. Nonetheless, we will share your observations with our team to help enhance our guest experience. Regarding the sails, the Galileo is classified as a motor sailer, and the use of sails depends on favorable wind conditions. Safety factors such as wind direction, speed, and sea spray can sometimes prevent the use of sails. In these situations, we rely on the engine to adhere to the itinerary, especially on shorter routes where precise timing is crucial. We regret that conditions during your voyage did not allow the use of sails, but we strive to maximize these opportunities whenever possible. Please note that the Galileo operates weekly, which limits the time available for extensive refurbishments. However, a comprehensive renovation is scheduled for this winter. Thank you again for your feedback. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you aboard in the future with improvements that reflect your suggestions. Our customer care team will follow up via email with further details. Kind Regards, Variety Cruises

If you don’t like the thought of a cruise - think again. With a smaller cruise liner, I experienced all the service benefits of a top hotel - food was fantastic, crew couldn’t do enough to ensure an entertaining time, activities were tailored to the 18 passengers ( who were more like family) and the stop off trips around the Seychelles brilliantly planned. It exceeded my expectations! I would also recommend this holiday to single travellers and all ages.

First time on a cruise of any sort and it was fabulous. The accommodation, the food and all the crew from the Captain to the person that serviced our cabin twice a day were excellent. We even met the CEO who bought us drinks! All the guests from all over the world became friends and Ully our tour guide was great. A special mention to Mick who organised a cake for our silver wedding anniversary and Valerie who looked after our needs at the cocktail bar. I would highly recommend this company.

To celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary we choose a cruise around the islands of the Seychelles with Variety Cruises. We had a great week. we had originally booked for April but had to move to May as the boat was being refurbished. THe weather wasn't quite as good in May with a lot of cloud and some rain but it was still warm and the seas were generally calm. Even when the boat rolled a bit we quickly gained our sea legs and found it very comfortable. The whole crew were excellent and we had a brilliant cruise coordinator called Joshua who looked after us on the excursions and kept us informed of the detailed intinerary. The food was good and my wife's dietary requirements were well looked after. We enjoyed the entertainment which was very low key and informal. We were lucky to have a musical theatre start from Kazakhstan on our trip so that led to an excellent karaoke and she even did some somngs herself at the final night party. (it was great to duet with a pro singer) The shore excursions were very enjoyable with generally a shore excursion in the morning with a walk of arouns 1.5 hours. The afternoons were mainly a short journey and a stop for a snorkelling trip or swimming off the back of the boat. The fish life is good and we swam with a manta ray and saw a white tipped reef shark and an eagle ray. It was lovely to be on such a small ship with 35 passengers on this cruise. That encouraged us to make some firm friends that we will keep in touch with. There was a mix of nationalities with Germans in the majority but with English, Canadian and American as well. For a small ship there was plenty of room and as an author I managed to find several spots where I could sit and write another chapter of my latest book. A very enjoyable week and we have our eyes on the West Africa and Greek Islands cruises as well.

Dear John, Thank you for sharing your cruise experience with us! We're thrilled that our crew, food, and itinerary exceeded your expectations. We appreciate your understanding regarding the rescheduling of your trip due to the boat refurbishment. Despite the slightly less favorable weather in May, we are glad that you still enjoyed warm temperatures and calm seas. We are also pleased to hear that the small size of our ship allowed you to form lasting friendships with fellow passengers from around the world. Finally, as an author, we are delighted that you found peaceful spots onboard where you could write another chapter of your latest book! We look forward to welcoming you and your wife on our West Africa and Greek Islands cruises in the future! Kind Regards, Variety Cruises

We took the Panorama II for the 10 cruise in French Polynesia. It was fantastic! We had only 13 people on board. The crew went out of their way to take care of each of us. The places we went were just amazing, there is no way you could go to all of them in a large ship. The excursions were just perfect. We all loved swimming off the back of the boat when anchored out. You can’t do that on a big ship. The ship is quite small and a bit old. If you are looking for luxury this isn’t the trip for you. If you are looking for adventure then do this trip. Some tips: bring a dry bag. You will be swimming and snorkeling a lot, you will want dry clothes. The boat is small so it rocks a lot so be ready for that. Don’t bring nice clothes, this trip is very casual. The food is great, the crew is attentive and the islands are amazing. Great trip

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We had booked 3 days beach vacation in hotels before and after the cruise. This made the cruise a wonderful focal point of our vacation in the Seychelles. The ship itself is not a luxury ship, but it is very well equipped. There were only 20 passengers on board during our excursion. This made it an almost family atmosphere. The excursions were very well organized and we had a really great guide in Pietro, who made every excursion a real experience. I don't need to write anything about the various islands. Everyone has to experience that for themselves. For us, the Seychelles are a beautiful place and we enjoyed our vacation. The food on the ship was really great and deserves special praise. We had booked a category B cabin. They are not particularly large, but you can find your way around. After 2-3 days we had no more problems and felt very comfortable. However, you should definitely not book a smaller cabin. To sum up, we can say that it was a great experience and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire crew and team once again for the wonderful service.
