About The British Blanket Company:

The British Blanket Company is a family-run business bringing colour, comfort and warmth to homes all over the UK and beyond. Founded by siblings Bethan and Joe, we’re passionate about creating beautiful blankets that feel as good as they look.

Our designs begin in our Bristol studio, where we pair joyful colour palettes with timeless patterns. Each blanket is then woven at traditional mills around the British Isles using natural, sustainable fibres like wool and recycled cotton.

What makes us special is our focus on quality, craftsmanship and sustainability. We work closely with our makers and choose materials that are kind to both people and the planet.

Our customers love us for our uplifting colours, thoughtful touches and the cosy feeling that comes with every blanket. Whether you’re treating yourself or sending a gift, we’re here to help you find a little extra joy, every day.

“The blanket was slow to arrive as it got caught up in the pre-Christmas Royal Mail strike. The company may want to consider using another courier company in future. The blanket was not quite the colour that I was looking for so I decided to return it. Quite a complicated method as you have to email them first to get them to agree to a refund before sending it back. The blanket was good quality.”

“I received my order of a blanket. It was a beautiful throw but the colour didn't match my colour scheme. I find it hard to believe that I have to pay postage to return this item when you offer no shop to view first and expect customers to accept that the colour chosen from a small photograph on the website to be exactly what they require. I am now having second thoughts about ordering another blanket in the hope that this one, at least, is the correct colour and if it is it, yet another return postage has to be paid.”

We're sorry to read this review. As an online shop we know how important photography is, which is why all our images are professionally taken and colour-matched. We photograph each blanket both in a studio setting against a white background and in natural light to show the colour in context. The images can be clicked and enlarged to full-screen size for a close-up look. Sadly, despite all these efforts, each screen will render colours differently, with mobile phone and tablet screens in particular often boosting saturation and contrast. I can see that Elle in our customer service team is already assisting with your return and we're happy to advise on the exchange for another colour which will hopefully be a perfect fit. “Although the products are 5 star I can only give a 2 star review based on the level of help that I received whilst waiting for my parcel. I appreciate that a postal strike was on but I ordered my goods in November before the strike started and was based on 48hour delivery it should have reached me prior to the strike, instead I had to wait 14 very anxious days to receive the expensive Christmas presents I had ordered and on both times I contacted the company I was given a very generic email reply that offered me no help at all. The company knowing the strike was happening should have sourced alternative couriers to ensure their customers were not impacted by the strike.”

Thank you for taking the time to share your review - I'm pleased to hear you're happy with the blankets but so sorry that your experience fell short. Unfortunately the Royal Mail strikes dates were scheduled thick and fast throughout November and December and some parcels were delayed much longer than expected. We did our best to pass on the information we had, but Royal Mail's customer service staff were striking at the same time as the postal workers which meant we weren't able get the personalised responses for customers as we usually would. I am glad that your parcel did arrive safely and before Christmas and I'm so sorry again that this caused you worry. Thank you again for sharing your feedback. Bethan - The British Blanket Company
