Buy chatsworth wool blankets, they are far superior and similar price

Beautiful blanket and speedy delivery. Sadly the two blankets we bought, after only 2 weeks, are shedding a large amount of fluffy lint making them look worn.

Thank you for your email and I'm sorry to hear this. We use premium natural wool fibres which can shed a little at first if used in areas of friction, as with all wool products. We'll reach out with some quick care tips to help keep your blanket looking its best. Thank you for getting in touch. Bethan & Joe - The British Blanket Company

Blanket was rather scratchy. It was made from leftovers- but other blankets have been soft. Also. Very dark and not colourful like the ones shown. I missed the return date as I was away when it was delivered.

I'm sorry to hear this - our Random Recycled Blanket do have a more rustic texture than our pure new wool and merino blankets as they're made from remnant yarns. We'd be happy to exchange your order for one of these other ranges if you'd like please just get in touch. Bethan & Joe - The British Blanket Company

Color that was delivered was not at all what we expected when ordering the lavender blanket, it was much more grey-ish than anything else

The Lavender Purple and Grey Herringbone Blanket is woven with both colours of yarns and we're sorry to hear this wasn't as expected - we appreciate your feedback. Bethan & Joe - The British Blanket Company

I’m really wanted it to be great as it is a local business, but the quality wasn’t good enough to gift to a colleague as a leaving present. The inner packaging was poor. I expected a lot better for the price.

We're really sorry to hear you weren't pleased with the quality of the blanket. Our merino blankets are woven with the finest and lightest yarns but perhaps one of our thicker wool blankets would be more to your preference. We would be glad to advise and help you find the right blanket for you. Bethan & Joe - The British Blanket Company

After a month, my blanket is looking terrible, with fluffing bobbles and all over fuzz ruing the look. I don’t know if it’s the loose weave or what but I’m not happy

Dear Bethan and Joe at the British Blanket Company. I searched high n low for a decent blanket for my partner. She just had a kidney removed and is now awaiting another kidney removal so the blanket has more meaning and use for the future. She wanted a Herringbone style and loved the dusty pink and pearl one. I bought it and even paid the extra £36 to upgrade from the Small £47 to the XL £83. She was given it on Christmad Day and it was received with many comments of "I love my blanket" and "It is perfect", however.....and sorry to say there is a however.....we have used it most days just in the evenings....bear in mind that that is only 5 days and already it is covered in bobbles. My partner was very upset that it is "already covered in bobbles and we have hardly used it". So in one way very happy with the product but in reality I am really disappointed. It cost me £83. I am not a big earner as I am serving in the forces. My partner is currently on sick leave due to her operations and now only getting stat sick pay....so £83 is a lot of money to us and we expected a much better product for that money. I even bought another blanket yesterday so it doesn't get too bad but I should not have to. Please tell me if this is usual and that I should expect to have a very bobbly blanket that in a week will look nothing like that in the picture that you guys market. Please help remedy this situation as I hate for my reviews to be negative.

After receiving an extra large olive green blanket from you I was disappointed by the quality compared to the large blanket I bought a year ago. I sent an email asking whether the quality of large blanket would be the same as the extra large but I haven't received a reply. I wondered whether you have changed your supplier as I cannot tell you how much I LOVE my original blanket and was really disappointed that I had to return it to you. I would still love to have a second blanket and would gladly buy one if the quality of the rug and the tassles was the same. Let me know what your thoughts are?

We're sorry to hear this Sarah and have corresponded with you via email to help with your concerns. The quality of our products is something we're very proud of and have always worked with the same yarn supplier, weaving mill and quality control standards on our pure wool herringbone range. As wool is a natural fibre, some small variations can occur in batches made some time apart. In this particular case, I believe the difference is simply down to your older blanket 'relaxing' over time as it's been enjoyed and handled, vs. your new blanket which has been folded up in transit. We look forward to seeing you back again soon. Bethan & Joe, The British Blanket Company

I bought two baby blankets and was quite pleased with them until the first time I laundered them. I used a detergent that is designed for woollens and I washed them in cold water on a wool cycle. Both blankets shrunk significantly and are so rough in texture that they are unfit for purpose. All the other woollen items that went in with them came out well. I have never had this happen with merino wool. I can only assume the wool that was used to make the blankets was not pre-shrunk. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed.

We're sorry to hear this. Pure wool is a lovely natural fibre but it does require a little more care than synthetic materials when washing to keep them looking their best. When washed correctly our baby blankets won't shrink like this, so something must have gone wrong during the cycle to give the result you've described. We will reach out via email to help further. Why do you advertise yourselves as a blanket company and then size your products as throws? I have a king sized bed for which I ordered an extra large throw, looking at the sizing recommendation diagram you have given. Very disappointed that it comes far too small for a bed because it is not in fact a blanket but a throw.

Although the products are 5 star I can only give a 2 star review based on the level of help that I received whilst waiting for my parcel. I appreciate that a postal strike was on but I ordered my goods in November before the strike started and was based on 48hour delivery it should have reached me prior to the strike, instead I had to wait 14 very anxious days to receive the expensive Christmas presents I had ordered and on both times I contacted the company I was given a very generic email reply that offered me no help at all. The company knowing the strike was happening should have sourced alternative couriers to ensure their customers were not impacted by the strike.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review - I'm pleased to hear you're happy with the blankets but so sorry that your experience fell short. Unfortunately the Royal Mail strikes dates were scheduled thick and fast throughout November and December and some parcels were delayed much longer than expected. We did our best to pass on the information we had, but Royal Mail's customer service staff were striking at the same time as the postal workers which meant we weren't able get the personalised responses for customers as we usually would. I am glad that your parcel did arrive safely and before Christmas and I'm so sorry again that this caused you worry. Thank you again for sharing your feedback. Bethan - The British Blanket Company

Thank you for making us aware of this Angela. With the ongoing Royal Mail strikes deliveries are taking longer to arrive than usual. However, I will pass your enquiry to our customer service team so they can look into the tracking and provide some reassurance that your blanket is working its way to you. Sorry to say that we're really disappointed with our purchase, which we made following reading other reviews. The material simply isn't good quality. We bought a throw to put on our sofa but it is bobbling and pilling, after only a few weeks; not a good look. We therefore cannot recommend to others.

We're sorry to hear you're disappointed with your blanket. Wool blankets will bobble in areas of high friction, such as the seat or back of a chair, especially in the first few weeks when the blanket is new. As time goes on, the fibres will felt together and bobbles won't form as readily. Removing bobbles from time to time is part of the normal care routine for wool and we have a video on our website showing it's quick and easy to do. Please pop us a message if we can help with more care advice. Bethan & Joe – The British Blanket Company

The blanket was purchased as a gift. First order failed to be delivered. Reordered to a different address, communication was good, item dispatched, great to another week to be delivered. This could be down to the fact it was ordered just before the New Year, Covid-19, or Royal Mail ( 1st delivery was by Yodel - they failed completely). Gift therefore missed birthday celebration and has now been posted on to recipient. After all that the throw looked and felt amazing, will Inuse again - Yes, I will give them another go

Hi Sally, thank you for the lovely feedback about the throw you ordered, it means a lot to us. I'm so sorry to hear about this delivery experience, how frustrating. Looking back though, I'm not sure this was your order from The British Blanket Company! We only sent one order to you (no replacement or change of address) and we don't use Yodel. Our parcel was delivered by Royal Mail 5 working days after dispatch, which is as promised for the free delivery option. I hope this helps. If we can assist further please don't hesitate to get in touch, we would hate for you to feel left with a poor experience if there's more we can do. Very best wishes, Bethan and Joe - The British Blanket Company

Back story on website sounded convincing, and products appeare durable, but I was disappointed with the quality and returned it for an exchange item. Even this simple request was not handled correctly and I received a full refund. Perhaps the exchange item would have had the same problem!!

We're so sorry to hear this Alexandra - we didn't receive your email unfortunately but I will get in touch with you right away. We have never encountered this problem before with the straps, so we certainly want to see what might have happened and arrange a solution for you.

I was not impressed by the quality of the blankets. Thought they were a little rough compared to a few others I have. However, the approval to return and refund was quick but shame I had to a pay for the return as it was a large package!

Thank you for your review Lisa and we're sorry you weren't keen on the feel of the blankets. Please do take a look at our Merino Lambswool collection which are softer in feel and tend to be preferred by customers who have sensitive skin. We have equivalents to the designs you ordered in the merino, and we ship exchanges free of charge.

Thank you for your review. Our photos are professionally colour-matched to the blankets so all the images on our website are as accurate as possible. Unfortunately though, we're unable to control the screen settings of the viewer which can vary quite significantly on different devices. This is why sometimes colours can appear differently to the originals. I'm sorry this led to disappointment and we are happy to accept a return if the blanket isn't suitable.
