Your comments regarding price increases are perfectly valid but it is important to note that you paid 35p less for each box of the GL895 product in February 2021 compared to your previous order in December 2020. There are many factors which have driven increases in the price of disposable gloves over the past year, but primarily we have been in a situation where the requirement for these products across the World has increased to unprecedented levels and demand continues to far exceed production capacity. All disposable gloves are manufactured in factories in the Far East and they are simply not able to produce enough product to fulfil orders. As a result they are able to inflate prices and sell to the highest bidder. Demand from the US market in particular has been insatiable. In addition to the above, Global shipping costs have skyrocketed due to a shortage of containers. The average cost of shipping a 40ft container from Asia to Northern Europe (including UK) has risen from $1,752 last February to more than $8,000 at the beginning of March 21. We recognise that regular price increases are never welcome but we have no choice but to pass on these manufacturers increases and additional shipping costs to our Customers if we want to remain in Business. We will of course look to reduce prices to a more palatable level as the situation in the supply chain returns to a position of normality and as mentioned above, you have already benefited from a small price decrease on your recent order. I hope that you now understand the full position and I would ask that you reconsider your 3 Star Review particularly as you have praised our overall service.
