“The Old Coach House is a beautiful house in a wonderful location and very well equipped.
It does require a little TLC very DAMP in downstairs bedrooms at back and side of house - there are strong air freshners plugged in to mask the odour I had to unplug as overpowering.
The beam upstairs could do with something prominent to alert your attention to it - my husband hit his head on it badly one night -it's easy to forget - needs protection or signage to avoid walking straight into.
Gas fire in alounge slightly alarming as after a while it just goes out - yet it is on.It did say that might happen in the handbook when first alight, as it happened every time, we decided not to use.
Property could benefit from an oven glove, downstairs toilet seat very loose and some matresses could benefit from an upgrade. Comfort is important - only 2 beds were ok out of the 4 - luckily we had choices as we were 4.”
“This cottage was comfortable and welcoming. The hosts left milk and a chocolate cake, which was appreciated, and checked in with us after arrival and before departure. A small issue was dealt with swiftly. For 2 people the lounge and seating was ample and would be ok for 4 people. There was little free cupboard space in the kitchen for food storage, but there was enough worktop space. Appliances all worked well. The cottage is not between Pickering and Thornton Dale, but is between Pickering and Malton, an ideal location for the coast, the moors and visiting York. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would happily return if staying in the area.”

“We enjoyed another fabulous week in Cullen. The cottage is ideally situated to explore the area we love. Cottage is a great size & we'll equipped. Just a couple of things disappointed us; we stayed two years ago & the kitchen had a couple of areas that needed attention, these have not yet been attended to. The kick board beneath the sink falls down whenever the dishwasher is opened & a couple of the cupboard doors need replacing. Generally clean & tidy although the toilet brushes need replacing!”

“East Farm Croft ,lovely cottage in a very nice area,unfortunately a few things were not up to the usual standard,the kitchen sink hadn't been cleaned or the bowl,upstairs bathroom floor wasn't clean either,there was dirty underwear and shorts behind a chair in the downstairs bedroom .When using the vacuum cleaner no suction as the bag was completely full,no instructions for oven or microwave but plenty for the aga that wasn't on unfortunately and first time no visitors book to leave any comments in.
But we had a lovely holiday and have booked again with Sykes next year in Devon.”
