It is extremely difficult to focus on a particular highlight of what was an all round fantastic and enriching trip. However, the time spent in Siem Reap was so wonderful, in thanks in no small part to Annette Beauvoir's excellent knowledge of great spots to visit in the town. Of course, visiting the famed temple sites and Angkor Wat was truly awe inspiring. Never before have I felt as transported to another time. The experience was bolstered by the rich and informed narrative provided by our guide, Dimong Pech. He was the perfect accessory for the trip.

The trip was packed so full of amazing things that it truly is hard to pinpoint!! Obviously Angkor Wat was mind blowing in itself but to have our local rep Dimong as a really good tour guide made it even better. Even though it was a little harrowing the genocide museum and S21 was fascinating. Everything in Siam Reap was brilliant (I would happily live there) and naturally the New Hope volunteering was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life. Every day was a new adventure and there was never a dull moment.

Re-learning how to ride a bike in the amazing scenery in Mai Chau was something I'll never forget, and waking up to see sunrise at Ha Long Bay from my cabin on the boat! Not to mention the kayaking, taking quad bikes over the white sand dunes at Mui Ne, basically the whole trip was a highlight. Arron and Jane worked so hard to make sure we all had an amazing time and it really paid off! Tip 1: do this trip. Tip 2: do this trip. Tip 3: seriously do this trip

It was all amazing, Vietnam is a beautiful place! The atmosphere of being in Hanoi on their NYE. Staying in a tree house in Mai Chau in the countryside. Sand dunes in Mui Ne were incredible, definitely take the option to quadbike in the dunes. Cruising around Halong Bay where the views were awesome. The cooking class and all the pretty lanterns in HoI An. The craziness of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and going through the Cu Chi Tunnels.

Honestly the main highlight was the amazing group of people I met, even though travelling alone I felt like I was a part of a small family by the end. The tour guides feel more like your friends, and make sure everyone is as happy as possible all the time!! I loved exploring Siem Reap, from Angkor Wat, the amazing places to eat and going a bit crazy in pub street, it was all incredible. The volunteering is also such a meaningful project that I'm sure will stay with me forever, beyond worth all of the effort.

Meeting new people, both volunteers and Nepali people, who will be in my life and memories for a very long time! The Shiva Raatri festival, an absolutely beautiful Hindi festival I attended by chance! The bus journeys...something you have to experience. The food - never get bored of that stuff!!

Visiting Angkor Wat and the other temples was really interesting, and theYOLO bar pub crawl in Siem Reap was a great night out. Learning about the Khmer Rouge at Tuol Sleng and the killing fields was an eye opening and informative day that really helped understand the country and its history.

Definitely the lifelong friends I met whilst out there! The volunteering and Angkor Wat. The drunken nights out with the crew! And of course our tour leaders Annette and Dimong, they were fantastic and the trip wouldn't have been the same without them!

Nothing can compare to the magic of the temples!! The ancient cities of Cambodia are incredible and truly a day I will never forget, I would advise anyone to go to the quieter temples so you can be alone with the history and the tourists can detract from it but that is unavoidable. The whole trip was completely made by the two guides we had (Annette and Dimong.) I can't speak for the other guides in times past but I honestly felt like our trip would not have been the same without these two. Two friends for life. They were always on the ball and every aspect of the trip was turned to 11 because of these two. Dimong's knowledge of the country was incredible and he is incredible fun and Annette was so re-assuring all the time and also incredibly fun and chilled. They have friends/family in the country and they made us all feel like part of their friendship group from the first moment and I look forward to seeing them again in my life.
