Both lamp and shade are individually attractive. However, despite the shade being advertised as suitable for the lamp, it does not fit firmly and is often at a tilt which greatly spoils the overall impact of the item. In this respect, I am disappointed in my purchase.

My dark blue lampshade arrived in good time. Unfortunately it was noticeable marked on the pale cream underside. I coudn't send it back to you without incurring additional costs cos I 'd arranged for the electrician to be at my house on a certain day to do a number of elec jobs and to get him back on a different later date just to fit a new shade would have cost a lot more. It was disappointing tho and i could have been avoided if you;d chekced before sending

Sorry to hear your shade arrived with a mark, Penny! I appreciate that it is frustrating to receive an item with a mark on it when you have a deadline. I'm not sure of your turnaround but we do offer a next day delivery for replacements if we are notified in time. Unfortunately our warehouse are just not able to check individually boxed items before sending due to the amount of parcels we dispatch. Very prompt delivery. Lovely fabrics, but unfortunately had to return the candle shades as they require a ring fitting which was too large for my fixtures (Jim Lawrence).

Thank-you for your feedback, Jane. These shades are not designed to work with candle bulbs, as these would require a clip on shade. Our lampshades, unless specified otherwise, are all fitted with an E27 fitting and B22 adapter. We have found previously that couriers can be a little heavy handed with some of our more delicate items. Hence we do provide extra packaging for these to avoid breakages. The selection of products look fantastic and well designed, although they are on the more expensive side. I’m very happy with my lamp base although it is much larger in real life than it comes across in the pictures. Altogether I am happy with my purchase and am likely to shop with point again.

We bought this to replace an existing light. There is a lot of choice on the website, but navigating the available options of what to match with what took a while - we ended up going around in circles between what fitting was compatible with which shade in a colour that we liked. Once we did choose and ordered it arrived in a timely fashion and was well packaged. The light was good quality and looks ok. Price was also ok. Fitting was unfortunately not as easy as it should have been - see below for comments on the elbow.

Hi Eric, Thank you for your feedback but I am sorry to hear you had some issues with the website and the installation. We have done our upmost to ensure we are showing as much variety on the website, whilst allowing for helpful functionality to allow customers to view various different shades on various different fittings. This leads to a complicated build that is not necessarily 100% perfect in all areas and we can absolutely acknowledge that. We are constantly working out better ways to display the products to make it as easy as possible to continue with the various options we display and will continue to improve upon this particular wall fitting combinations area as we find ways around the restrictions inevitable with such complicated functionality. Buying was easy but the quality for the price of the light questionable. The metalwork is flimsy and as with a lot of products these days It looks better in the photograph. As it will be secured to a high ceiling no one will notice!

Dear Corrine, Thank you for your feedback but sorry to hear the shade wasn't what you had expected. We do our very best to portray our products as accurately as possible with multiple images and descriptions on our website but of course we cannot control how these images are seen on different screens. However, due to screen resolutions differing on each persons computer it can sometimes look different so I am sorry if that was the case in this instance. The product ordered was lovely. However what I expected to be an IP rated light, was not an IP rated light so I have to send the items I have back. The website is misleading/confusing in this respect and we didn’t get the bulbs noted in the product description. All inconvenient as we’ve got an electrician coming on Monday and no lights.

Hi there, Thank you so much for your feedback and I am sorry you found the website misleading. We have tried to make it as clear as possible if items are IP44 rated, by including that in the item name and down in the details. Sometimes when moving from product to product you will change to a non-IP rated version and that is something we are really hoping we can improve on in time. It is really important to note that you only need the light to be IP44 rated if you are fitting it within 60cm from the tap or showerhead, if it is going either side of a mirror for instance then you are legally allowed to use the non-IP rated lights you have purchased. I would also advise that whilst the light you purchased is not IP rated, we do an IP44 rated version of this fitting so we can happily swap that over for you if you want to get in touch with us on hello@pooky.com? Please note there is a higher cost for the IP rated version. Regarding the bulbs we detail the bulb type on the page, plus have included pop ups when you add an item to your basket that details which bulbs we recommend and the price for them. If this is unclear we will of course review but the bulb is included for the IP44 version and we do detail that fact on the product page for clarity. Always pleased with my purchase from Pooky but this time thePhileas rechargeable lamp was not working . Loved the shade so keep that and ordered another in a larger size and brought a different lamp which I am very pleased with .

We would love to get some feedback from you as to what it was that wasn't working with your lamp when it arrived? They are a brand new launch for us so we are particularly keen to hear from our customers to ensure we can action any changes for other customers. These lamps are rechargeable so they do require charging up before use, plus they have a replacement battery for once that runs out. Sorry that you feel the postage is a lot - that is our base rate for shipping to Ireland as that is what we are charged by our courier - we don't add any mark-up onto the cost of deliveries. I think you could have done better. For quite a few months I have been chasing you up for a lampshade to go with a Miyako table lamp. You responded efficiently to my enquiries but did not offer to contact me when the lampshade was in stock. Eventually I called and was told it was finally in and I ordered it. No problems there but apparently by the time I ordered the shade, the Miyako lamp was sold out. How much better it would have been if I had been advised to buy the lamp earlier and better still if you can now contact me when it's in stock!

Lamps are lovely but I was hit with a €70 Brexit charge and €30 delivery which stung. I’m in Dublin. Would have to think hard about the value on this basis.

Dorothy, thank you for sending in your review about customs and duty charges. We fully sympathise with your situation but in this case, I hope you will accept that the imposition of these charges is beyond our control. We do try to make it as clear as possible that there will be charges when the items are received by the customer - we list in our T’s & C’s, delivery info, and when we email over the orders. I hope you will agree that it is impossible for us to predict what these charges will be in advance. And couriers do apply their own charges (beyond our control) to cover their administration. I waited for a good few months (since Oct) for these fern shades to come back into stock, and have dropped a few starts on the feedback as I was meant to be automatically notified when they did back into stock but I wasn't, I luckily happened to check. However, from placing the order, everything was top notch, speedy delivery, nicely packed etc.

Surprisingly poor finish on table lamp stands: surface bobbles in wood grooves just painted over, one wood corner incomplete. These defects really show up under lamp light. This bespoke service needs to lift its quality then it could be great. I certainly wont be recommending to anyone without proof of a step change in process.

Hi Serena - Thank you very much for sending in your feedback and yes i agree that this does not look as if it's been done with sufficient care. We have changed the process recently and we now use a spray as opposed to a brush - but it looks to me as if this should have had a light sanding before the spray was applied.
