“We are a retired couple that was very much looking forward to the wonderful vacation planned for us by Off the Map Travel. We were going to see the Northern lights in both Iceland and Norway. But, because of the Corona virus pandemic, we could not go. While we are fighting the airlines who want to charge us a 37.4% "rebooking" fee (talk about taking advantage of seniors!!), Off the Map Travel has rebooked us for next year with no additional charges!!! The measure of a company is best made by seeing how they treat their customers in a crisis!!! Kudo's and thanks to Holly and her team!!!”

“My family and I traveled to Sweden to see The Northern Lights in March of 2023. From the planning process to every detail of the trip, I could not have been more pleased with our experience. Alex was exceptional to work with. His guidance on the time of year, where to stay, activities to do and how to get to and from everything was spot on. I have never used a tour company before but thought a trip of this kind would be easier with some help. I am so glad that I did. The entire week was seamless and completely stress-free, allowing us to truly enjoy Sweden and our time together as a family. I will be recommending Off The Map travel to friends and family and will certainly be using them myself again in the future.”

“Our group of 7 (two families) booked a 10 day trip to Sweden, and wanted to explore more of the country than just Stockholm. So glad to have found Off the Map Travel (OTM), as they made getting "up north" to a beautiful part of the country to chase the Northern Lights SO easy. Those 5 days were the absolute highlight of the trip, and booking with OTM gave us access to truly unique, boutique stays that were private to our small group. Our planning guide, Amy, was thoughtful, detailed, and timely in communications with me throughout the planning. OTM offers full concierge planning support, but as our families are seasoned travelers, Amy was flexible to work with me for our group to manage portions of the in-Sweden travel on our own so we could use "points" for travel cost offsets. Once on the ground, it was so much fun, with great activities, tasty, high-quality local/traditional foods, absolutely on-point accommodations and gracious, friendly hosts and activity guides. The included heavy-duty cold-weather outerwear (the "Supersuits!") and warm boots were indispensable. We appreciated they stayed with us for the duration of our time with OTM, as we wore them everywhere with our offsite activities and exploring around our lodging, too. We loved the people we met through OTM's network and adored each and every place we stayed. From a cost perspective, Scandinavia is expensive in general, so value-wise, the investment to travel with OTM was pretty reasonable. You could book a similar tour on your own, but the travel industry relationships they have for absolutely boutique lodging, activities, transport truly give you access you'd be hard-pressed to book independently. So for that, we found the slight premium in cost was worth it for the experience we had in return. Point to consider--flexibility is a must, especially with shoulder season travel as we did. We ended up dog carting vs dog sledding due to snow conditions (Amy had given heads up of that possibility at booking, and it was still amazing!), and, had a change in lodging, confirmed a few days before our trip began, noting access challenges due to the lake the original property was on not being fully frozen. As these things go, the alternate location we stayed at actually ended up a favorite for everyone because of the ambiance, comfortable accommodations, wonderful food, expanded included activities, and onsite crew. So, we appreciated how seamless the transition to the alt lodge happened, with no additional changes to our overall package. Overall, we had a blast, and would definitely look to book with Off the Map Travel again!”

“We have just returned from our Norway trip organised by Holly from ‘Off The Map’. We had such an amazing time as Holly had organised a perfect itinerary. All of the excursions and transfers ran smoothly and accommodation really suburb. We would throughly recommend ‘Off the Map’ and will be using them again. Diane”

“Let me start by saying that I am not one to work with Travel Agents! It had been many years, but I saw something about a Northern Lights trip to a place called Svalbard and I wanted to learn more. Off the Map Travel was fantastic! They were very engaged with who we were, what would work and always answered questions very quickly. Even when I thought things were not going to go well (a potential delayed flight) they were quick to provide me their off hours line and were very anxious to make sure that we were taken care of and wanted to be kept in the loop. All worked well in the end - and we had a fabulous time. I would highly recommend this company to work with your needs and trip ideas to the Arctic.”

“We did the 10 day Grand Aurora Tour and indeed saw the Aurora in Norway, Sweden and Finland. Rates as one of our best ever holidays. As well as Aurora hunting the holiday included dog sledding, reindeer sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snow shoeing, Ice Hotel, lights over lapland and the Sky Station..... And we could have added more if we had the energy! They even recommend where you can hire your cold weather gear to save buying it. Big thanks to Katie for answering all my email queries and for lending me her hair dryer whilst in Sweden. Big big thanks to Jonny for being a wonderful guide, great fun, very informative and lastly for the T bags and milk which we were provided with on our arrival in Norway! Till next time.........”

“This was to be the experience of a life time, booked as a surprise for my partners 50th who had the dream of seeing the Northern lights, but also planned to coincide with getting married so it was to be our honeymoon too! In reality our 4 night holiday exceeded all our expectations.. it was very romantic, it was extremely relaxing, but we also packed so much in, experiencing once in a life time activity's. To top it all, we saw a spectacular display of the Aurora on our last night, and we created memories which we will never forget. Off the Map are very professional, organised and totally understood what we wanted from our holiday from the outset, and they delivered on everything.. Thank you Katie.”

“Amazing 4 days, all thanks to Katie and Jonny from Off the Map Travel. A fantastic place to visit, a must for anyone wanting a break away from the norm. I can't recommend this trip any more highly especially one arranged by OtMT. Well organised, great accomodation, mind blowing views and the Aurora is something you can only appreciate in person. Fantasicly organised and the personal touch was second to none! If you are looking to go ensure you pick all the trips, from the dog sledging, snow mobiles, and the sky station is something else that you never forget, and the guys at OtMT will arrange it all for you. Loved it, and we are definitely going again!”
