“We used Off the Map Travel to organise two very special trips involving staff and students from the University of Central Lancashire. Our needs were very tricky as we wanted to film a documentary and make a book. We didn't need to worry as Off the Map organised everything in a very professional way. They went the extra several miles to make the trip really unforgetable. It is really not like using a run of the mill travel agent at all. They will do everything in their power to make the trip a once in a lifetime experience and personal to you/ your group. We saw the Northern Lights, dog sledded across the ice, hiked on snow shoes and went to the aurora sky station. Every minute was unforgetable. We will be using Off the Map for our next project in Greenland. We cannot recommend them enough.”

“This was my first time to the arctic and using 'off the map' travel. From the first moment I looked on their website and Katie opened an immediate chat line and explained all the ins and outs and options, and answered my 'bajillion' questions with honesty and clarity, I was hooked and decided they were the only travel company for me. I had enquired of several other companies and had the usual luke warm interest in helping or no reply!! Off the map are not the cheapest but they do offer a 100% plus!! efficient and quality service - and to be honest you get what you pay for!! They go the extra mile in every way even to the fact that both Katie and Jonny were based at our hotel over the new year period and were completely 'hands on' hosting and making sure everyone was happy. Even if they were not there in person I trust that they would have been available on email/ phone at any reasonable time to handle any enquiries quickly and smoothly. They are so well geared in every way and personally choose all the activity hosts so have a very personal relationship with them and are able to feed information and quickly and effectively. I met and chatted to many other guests who were staying at our hotel and apart from the initial booking had had zero communication with their tour company and were left to their own devices and its a bit of a minefield finding out the best times/places to go to find the Aurora. Katie and Jonny even went as far as to drive their guests from our hotel in Bjorkliden one evening when it was cloudy to Abisko where it was clear so that they could experience the amazing lights display that evening---- thats impressive. When we all got back to the hotel completely elated after our experience many of the other guests in the hotel were amazed and very envious that they had missed out… they had no clue ( as I would not have had had it not been for Katie and Jonny) what a difference a few Kilometres and a mountain could make to the weather and cloud. Transfers to and from the airport and any of the activities are all geared as to minimise waiting and travelling time and maximising holiday enjoyment time. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending OFF THE MAP for their Northern lights holiday as far as I am concerned they are the 'authority' and the 'best' and the only ones worth 5 stars.
