“Only got my pets new smart tag last week and it has already had some use! my dog ran off in the park and 5 minutes later had a call to say they had my dog. ALso got an email to let me know the tag was scanned. privacy features very cool.”
“Asked a question . How to change my cats chip to this company from another. Only got a reply for standard questions followed by an email to say my query closed as they’d answered it! Obviously haven’t so have no faith in this company now. No customer service at all. Will check out the other companies who may have a better service.”
Hi Brenda,
It looks like you opened a support request asking about moving to our database. Our team sent you across our help centre link detailing how to go about this and marked your support request as complete. As you can imagine with us being one of the most competitively priced databases (£3.99 for a MyPet Basic account) in the UK we receive 100's of requests like this every month. We also can't initiate a change of microchip database, this has to be done by the pet keeper with the original database as the article outlines.
Hope this helps explain and sorry you were unhappy with our standard response to this query.
Thanks,
The MyPet Team
“I contacted My Pet recently because I thought I would have to register my two cats with a new microchip database. On 31 March 2025 I received an email from a group calling itself Petchip Network, listing all the details of one of my cats, and informing me that his registration had expired. This group was asking me to pay £18.99 to re-register my cat. Thinking that amount was a little steep, I searched for a more affordable company and came across My Pet, which had favourable reports. I was unable to process a payment to My Pet, so contacted the support team, from which I received very good support, plus the information that the email from Petchip Network was a scam. Thank goodness I didn’t try to pay Petchip £18.99, which might have left me vulnerable to unauthorized access to my bank account. So, I feel I’ve had excellent help from My Pet and I’ll recommend the company to my friends. Meanwhile, I’ll leave my two cats with their original database (Petlog) because, like me, they are quite elderly. Josephine Wood.”
“Thank you Conor and the team we love the database its so much easier and love having all the working dogs in one place. I would recommend your site to anyone registering a new doggie or transferring ownership.”
“We've been using MyPet as our preferred microchip database for some time now and couldn't be happier with their service. They are always fast, responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful—everything you could want in a partner. It's great to know our dogs' details are in such safe and efficient hands. Highly recommended!”
“I didn t ask for that microchip number, but for another one and I received an unsatisfactory answer about how I might solve my problem. Whether there is a possibility to find another way. Thank you in any case”
Hi Fiorella,
You asked us about 1 microchip ending in 020. You mentioned this animal came from Russia to Italy. Our team informed you that it's not a registered microchip we've ever had, nor is it a brand of microchip we're connected to and on the basis, that we're a UK Database and don't accept registrations in Russia or Italy we couldn't help.
If you feel we've missed something, please feel free to give us a call at 0800 368 4150 or just reply to the last message from us and your support ticket will reopen.
Thanks,
MyPet
