I’ve had a very positive experience with MedExpress and wanted to share an honest review from the perspective of an everyday person. I started my journey on Mounjaro and have now been prescribed the oral tablets. Throughout my treatment, I have experienced no constipation, no sickness and no heartburn. I’ve tolerated the medication extremely well. I make sure I drink plenty of fluids, rarely drink alcohol, and I focus on eating a balanced diet, meeting my protein goals and ensuring I’m getting the right nutrients. One thing I’d really like to see from MedExpress is more representation of “normal” people. The success stories you share are inspiring, and those individuals have achieved amazing results. However, they don’t always reflect the reality that many of us experience. Weight loss is rarely linear. There are weeks when the scales don’t move and, sometimes, despite doing everything right, they even go up. Today, for example, I weighed 2 lb heavier, despite sticking to my nutrition, prioritising protein and only having a simple ice lolly as a treat. Those fluctuations can be incredibly disheartening if you’re comparing yourself to dramatic success stories. I’d love to see MedExpress follow more everyday customers throughout their journey. Show people who are consistently eating well, meeting their protein and nutritional targets, staying hydrated, exercising regularly and still experiencing the normal highs and lows that come with losing weight. I think this would give people much more realistic expectations and help them stay motivated. I work within the NHS Mental Health Team, and I see every day how much a person’s weight can affect their mental health, confidence and overall wellbeing. The relationship between physical and mental health is undeniable. For many people, excess weight contributes to low self-esteem, anxiety and depression, while poor mental health can make maintaining a healthy lifestyle even more challenging. One thing I do wish is that these medications were more affordable. The reduction in price for the oral tablets makes treatment more accessible, but for many people, the cost of weight-loss medication still puts it out of reach. In my opinion, many people who would genuinely benefit are unable to access treatment, and GPs are often understandably reluctant or unable to prescribe these medications routinely. I genuinely believe that if these treatments became more cost-effective and accessible, alongside appropriate clinical support, education and lifestyle changes, they could help reduce the long-term burden on the NHS. Preventing obesity-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and joint problems would not only improve quality of life but could reduce healthcare costs in the future. That said, medication isn’t a magic solution. Healthy eating and regular exercise remain essential. I also think initiatives such as the new walking programme are fantastic, as encouraging people to become more active alongside healthier eating habits and appropriate medical support can only improve people’s overall health and wellbeing. Overall, I’ve been extremely happy with the service I’ve received from MedExpress. My comments aren’t a criticism but a suggestion. By sharing more realistic, relatable journeys and continuing to support people in making sustainable lifestyle changes, I believe MedExpress could inspire even more people to achieve long-term success.
