“The LSM's 5-day civil and commercial mediation training was a brilliant introduction to conflict mediation. The instructors were very engaging and clearly knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. The course was very thorough—it covered a wide range of topics including the history of the profession, practical mediation skills, ethical and legal considerations for practitioners, and even guidance on how to set up and market your own practice. What I found particularly invaluable was the ample time allocated to roleplaying and practicing mediation. After several hours of participating in mock mediations and hearing the instructors' feedback, I found that I had a much clearer sense of how to conduct mediations and confidence in myself to start mediating in the real world.”

“An excellent and intensive course and introduction to mediation and totally recommended. Highly professional facilitators. Mediation is a practical skill that requires lots of practice which the course provides, with sound constructive feedback at every stage. Intense because the course puts you suitably out of your comfort zone, again required to bring Mediation within your comfort zone. One star less than 5 because the high standards of the course leaders earlier in the week were not sustained on the final day when assessments took place. I'm sure a one-off.”

“This excellent one-week mediaton course is certainly the best course I have done. It is comprehensive and well-structured and enabled the participants to have a good grasp of the mediation process at the end of the 40 hours. The several roleplays also enabled an authentic learning experience. The lecturers were very professional and answered all questions fully and patiently. I highly recommend it”

“I recently completed a mediation course with LSM and I must say, it was an exceptional learning experience. “An energising, enlightening and thoroughly enjoyable five-day course run by two exceptional mediators plus two supportive assessors. The course brought together a diverse group of delegates, supporting us to bring the best out in each other. The intimacy of the programme meant there was meaningful and rich tutor contact at all times. Assessment was meaningful and a real and appropriate test of skills learnt. I'd recommend this course to anyone and, no, not just lawyers. Out of group of 10 delegates, only two were lawyers. A really fun, intense and rewarding week.”

“Fantastic team of lecturers, Judith, Tabitha and Lizze are meticulous and thorough. The atmosphere was friendly, there was always a fresh supply of tea, coffee and biscuits. An all-around wonderful learning experience. I encourage everyone and anyone interested in mediation to attend LSM.”

“The 5-day Civil and Commercial Mediation Course was superb. Being a non-lawyer, the learning curve felt steep but the course management and supremely clear instruction made the week both enjoyable and challenging. All the instructors were experienced, enthusiastic, knowlegeable and highly effective. I have no hesitation recommending the LSM, in fact I'm going back for more mediation training later this year.”

“I have to say I really enjoyed this course. I am not a lawyer and on day 1 I wondered if I was out of my depth but the coaching, learning and the role play was fantastic. Whilst I was certainly pushed outside my comfort zone (which is a good thing) I felt supported by the very knowledgeable course Tutors but also from my fellow attendees, The role plays provided opportunities to be the mediator but also were a very valuable learning tool when playing the part of the participants at a mediation. The exam and the evaluation towards the end of the week were an excellent way to make sure all the learning had been adsorbed and that we were equipped to safely go out and develop our skill as mediators. I felt thoroughly enthused after the final day so much so that I signed up for two further 1 day courses to add to my knowledge gained. I would certainly recommend this to any potential mediator. Thanks to the team for a well planned and delivered course.”

“There was a very full agenda for the mediation course, and many moving parts given the learning content, a significant amount of role play, exams mid week, and assessments and final results feedback all in the context of COVID and social distancing requirements. The week went without hiccup, and all the trainers/assessors were very professional, clear and helpful with questions throughout the week, well done. I'd strongly recommend LSM to others, they were highly organised and professional, and the course structure with all the role plays worked very well as a learning approach.”
