“I found the Starting Your Own Online Business (SYOOB) course run by Tim Whitaker at Ipso Facto to be extremely well organised, fascinating and genuinely helpful for anyone considering starting their own business. The course covers a huge amount of information and at times the volume of material can feel a little overwhelming. However, Tim’s extensive knowledge, both as an instructor and as an entrepreneur in his own right, really shines through. He takes the time to explain complex topics, put the information into context and make it relevant and accessible, helping participants make sense of what can otherwise seem like a daunting process. What particularly stood out was Tim’s genuine enthusiasm for helping veterans and service leavers make the transition into their second careers. He clearly has a real interest in seeing people succeed and goes above and beyond to share his knowledge, experience and practical advice to give them the best possible start. I would highly recommend this course to anyone considering setting up an online business, particularly veterans and service leavers looking to explore self-employment as their next career. It provides valuable insight, practical guidance and just as importantly, the confidence to take the next steps. “Really enjoyed the AI training. The trainer was patient and explained things clearly, which helped because I'm not the most tech-savvy person in the room. Good mix of theory and demonstration, and I picked up a few shortcuts I'm already using. Overall it was well worth the time. Would definately recommend.”

“Well presented and delivered by Tim. Lots of opportunities to ask questions along the way and easily digestible material and slides presented to us all. I was welcomed to the course despite being a relative novice with Excel but didnt feel as though I shouldnt be there as there was some content that I could really use such as conditional formatting and templates, others probably not so much but really useful to have in my toolkit if my remit changes. Thank you to Tim who was engaging and really easy to listen to.”

“Completed AI for Business Managers under the CTP Programme. The one day course was well prepared and well presented, pitched at the appropriate level and delivered at a balanced pace. There was lots to take in and the course certianly raised my awareness of the growing capability of Gen AI LLMs and agentic systems. My key takeaways were the criticality of good data to ensure a valide outcome; and the use of Notebook LM for personal development. I believe that the pace and scale of technical development and deployment will face a public backlash and - as a consequence - I envisage more regulation to supervice the use of AI and AI Management Systems. AI Governance will be an emerging field future course(s) could cater for. Many thnaks, an enjoyable and informative day.”

“I’ve been running my company with my wife for over a year now, and I’ve also dabbled in a few small businesses previously, as well as attended several courses. Out of everything I’ve tried, Tim’s Start Your Own Business online course has been the most beneficial. Be warned this will feel like a one month course compressed into a single week, so be prepared to feel overwhelmed at times. Running a business in today’s tech heavy world means there’s more to think about than ever before, but there’s also more support available, and Tim communicates that really well. This is possibly the best starting point you could ask for, but don’t go into it expecting an easy ride from day one!”
