The cotent in the course book was very good and comprehensive but the instructor did not do through it all and jumped about from one topic to another. It seemed a bit haphazard and rushed. I have a sound background in H&S so I didn't find it too confusing but some people with less experience seemed to be struggling.

(IOSH Managing Safely) -
Thank you so much for your review and feedback, trainers are given license to jump around the content to some extent if it fits or follows nicely with the discussion in the group. In fact, to some degree, we, and IOSH encourage this rather than forcing delegates to a rigid schedule. With that said, our courses are standardised and have a lesson plan and timetable designed by our trainers to IOSH standards to deliver a great learning experience. Deviating from that too much can create a negative experience which I think may have happened on this occasion and is not acceptable. I'll investigate this further with our training manager, and if you have more details you could share that could help please email me at sambarton@projss.co.uk.
Good facilities, friendly instructor. I felt the level was a bit basic however, and that too much emphasis was put onto knowing how to answer exam questions to pass the course.

Thank you for leaving a review Sarah, we really appreciate the feedback. The course is set at a level to introduce managers to the health and safety they need to perform their roles and understand their responsibilities. If you are interested in something more advanced I can send some information over on the NEBOSH National Certificate. It's the level above and goes into more detail, plus you can also use it to gain IOSH membership. Our trainers do try and give advice and help with regards to the exam, we find a lot of people can be nervous about the prospect of sitting it at the end and we want them to go into it confidently. I'll speak with your tutor and discuss how much time is spent on this though as we want to make sure all areas of the course are given appropriate attention. Thank you again for the feedback, we use all comments to try and improve the course and our service.
The booklet was good resource alongside the powerpoint animations, made it a little bit more bearable.

Thank you for leaving feedback on the materials, delegates often enjoy the digestible format and the animations. We hope you enjoyed the course, if there's anything else we could have done to make the course more enjoyable, please email kately@projss.co.uk I'd love to hear your comments.
Well presented and certainly no reflection on Ken, but felt the course should be more in depth. Certainly for the financial cost, time and my wage cost, I felt I could have read and digested the book in an hour. That's not meant to in any way be conceited, and I know it's a basic intro course.

Thank you for the feedback Paul, the Working Safely is the most basic course and it can be hard to cater the content to all levels. I will certainly pass your feedback to IOSH and perhaps there is something we can add to the course to make it more in depth for students that grasp the required content quickly.
The course was enjoyable and useful. My problem with the course was that being only half full, it lacked energy and at times felt dull. The content was interesting, however I would have liked to have seen a wider variety of learning methods. The lunch was bad at first, but on requesting fresh fruit and juice this was provided so it became better. The course teacher was good and very experienced in health and safety, as well as enthusiastic. However at times he came across as unprofessional. For instance he offered to help us pass the test even if we got less than 50%. That provided me with no motivation to learn the content and revise for the exam. I think with a more professional and strict teacher, it could potentially be improved.

Thank you for your feedback Luke and I am glad to hear you found the course enjoyable and useful. With regards to the class size, we do try to keep courses running with no more than 10 delegates so all get enough attention with the tutor for the best learning experience. I think you make a great point and will speak with our trainer to see if he has ideas for how to improve the energy of the course when only 7 people attend as was the case for yours, along with increasing the variety of learning methods. I apologise for the lunch, our courses offer a general sandwich platter and finger buffet and I am glad we were able to include fruit for the remaining course days after your comments. We outline the lunch on joining instructions, and always try to listen to delegates’ suggestions. In future I have asked the training team to be more explicit in joining instructions about what lunch will be provided and that any suggestions are welcome before and during the course. We want everyone to pass and learn all course content but will only offer assistance in a professional way that follows course guidelines, I will personally speak to the trainer about maintaining professional conduct throughout courses and to offer the appropriate amount of support. Project Skills Solutions are always looking to improve and your feedback is important in helping us to do that. If you have any other comments please don’t hesitate to contact me either through reviews.co.uk or you can email me sambarton@projss.co.uk. Kind regards, Sam
